I wish I'd known Lebanese cuisine for longer

Byblos is a Lebanese restaurant that was opened about two months ago and brought a new cuisine to the restaurant scene of Würzburg. Quite spontaneously my wife, two friends and me found it when looking for a place that would offer food rather late and that had a decent selection of vegan options.

Initially I had my sight set on a Falafel wrap but upon further checking of the menu we found even more Vegan options than advertised outside (which were all clearly labeled as such in the menu). My wife and I then chose a mixed Vegan platter, containing crispy, fried Veggies (eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower and potatoes), dips (Hummus, Baba Ganoush and Muhammara), a Fattoush salad and Pita bread. My friends ordered Lima beans in a tomato sauce (which came with Safran rice and a type of coleslaw in the side) and Okra (same sides as the Lima beans).

All dishes were prepared in the open kitchen with a lot of care by the kitchen crew and were served by the very friendly waiter after about 15 minutes. The only negative were some of the veggies only being luke warm. Other than that everything tasted delicious and was given a seal of approval by our Turkish friend that knew a lot of the dishes from growing up. Just a heads up: if you don't like garlic, this place is not for you. They put it in almost every dish and they put a lot.

One downside is that the restaurant offers non-vegetarian or non-vegan options, but in a city the size of Würzburg having a restaurant with 1) such a wide range of Vegan options and 2) them being clearly labeled in the menu, came as a nice surprise.

Overall I'd rate it a 4/5 and will definitely return many more times.

Pros: Many vegan choices, Delicious and authentic taste, Friendly service

Cons: Some parts not hot when served, Non-vegan/vegetarian options
