Disappointed :( - Edit
Staff were friendly from the start! Sauces and poppadoms to start with were tasty and we were made to feel so welcome😊However the main course wasn’t great😒the naan was tasty as expected but the rice didn’t taste great and the okra in my okra dish was undercooked and I didn’t want to finish the dish😡

Indian Delights - Edit
One of the best curries I have had for a long time. As a party of 3 we shared onion bhajis, mushroom balti side dish, a balti brinjal side dish and a vegetable dhansak main, which we asked to be made vegan, along with some boiled rice and chapatis.
Read moreEach dish was excellent and so flavourful, with the dhansak our personal favourite. It was great to have onion bhajis again too, made the traditional way with no added milk or egg. We even got a vegan reita too. Rice and chapatis were also perfectly cooked.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially for our 5 year old and in total we spent just over £40. Highly recommended.

A solid choice for curry - Edit
The other 4 star reviews have hit the nail on the head with this place. If the restaurant was 100% vegan then I’d give it 5 stars

Nice enough! - Edit
Great vegan options! Not the absolute best curry I’ve had but it was enjoyable and nourishing.

Great food, great service - Edit
Ate with 12 work colleagues, incl one other vegan and a vegetarian. the online and table menus have plenty of vegan options clearly marked. They offered us a meal deal of a selection of starters, main and asmuch poppadoms, rice and naan as we could eat for 19.00 per head.
Read moreService impeccable - 12 including some alcoholic drinks £298.
The main reason I would recommend this restaurant is that there was no fuss and palaver about vegan options and the waiting staff were really knowledgeable about other things people wanted to check, and didn't have to go back and forth to the kitchen.
Pros: Tasty food, Wide range of options, No fuss
Cons: Non-vegan options a bit pungent, The general loos are up two flights of stairs, Red cord in the accessible loo tied up.

A Sheffield Institution - Edit
So Butlers Balti appeared on HappyCow and I realised I hadn't been in ages. Has always been a safe bet for veggie food but I'd heard it was more vegan friendly these days so decided to go after a late Saturday matinee of an obscene version of Dick Whittington at the Library Theatre. After tiring of Dick we called in about 6:30, early enough to get a table for two on a December Saturday night without it being full of Christmas drinkers. Very welcoming and efficient service, shown to a table straight away and pleased to see the menu now marks all the vegan options (down to the rice, pickles and breads), of which there are plenty. Shared samosas and delicious onion bhajis to start followed by a mushroom balti with rice and chapati. The balti was good with fresh mushrooms, a fairly mild to medium level of heat which is good for me. Lots of staff hovering around, in and out in thirty minutes which felt a little quick, but this place can turnover a lot of punters on a Saturday night. Enjoyed it.
Read morePros: Plenty of marked vegan options, Attentive, efficient service
Cons: Little too fast turnaround, Can get 'messy' later on
