very bad vegan experience but vegetarians were ok - Edit
So me, my husband and our friends, another married couple, went out to check this new place in Emek Refaim which looked really promising.
Read moreMe and my husband arrived a little bit earlier and had to wait for our friends, and first impression of the place were really nice: they played good music, some guests at the table next to us were definitely enjoying their breakfast pancakes and milkshakes, and the guy who works there came to us with coffeepot asking if we want some coffee. I declined, husband accepted and found out the coffee tastes terrible and looks more like tea... Also, it was presented to him in a disposable cup which i personally found disappointing because i prefer regular cups (:
Then... Our friends arrived and we finally could order food!
I chose vegan pizza "New York style", husband chose pizza with salmon (sorry for mentioning non-vegetarian thing in my review but that might also be important for the whole picture later) and a coffee (14 shekels!), our friends ordered calzone, croissant with halloumi and fried egg, and also french fries.
The first part of the order arrived pretty quickly. It was the coffee my husband ordered - for 14 shekels, i must remind you! And he got the same brownish liquid from the same coffeepot in another disposable cup... The coffee was pretty bad even for a free drink, not to mention paying 14 shekels for it 🥲
Then some strange pizza was brought to our table: it had tomato sauce, cheese and... some macaroni as in "mac'n'cheese". We stared at it in a big confusion. The guy who brought it asked whose pizza is this, my husband quickly replied that his pizza should contain salmon, and i asked if this was a vegan pizza perhaps? The guy had no idea went back inside to ask the chef. Meanwhile we started laughing about that strange pizza and saying how lucky we are to not have to eat that...
Unfortunately, the guy came back with the same dish and announced it as a "vegan pizza New York style". That was a really sad moment for me, honestly... But i was really hungry and tried to eat it. Succeeded a bit, but the pizza wasn't tasty at all, and even the dough wasn't baked enough...
Then, my husband got his salmon pizza, and there were about five small pieces of fish for the whole big pizza...
Also, our friends said french fries were disgusting because they couldn't taste anything but oil.
Good news is, they liked their croissant and calzone. But facts speak for themselves - it's 2 good dishes out of 5. Therefore, 2 stars)
Pros: good music, nice outdoor seating , free coffee
Cons: pizzas are disgusting , coffee is disgusting , weird choice of pizza toppings
