Better than expected - Edit
I was nearby and hungry, so I decided to give Broccoli a shot notwithstanding the last reviews here. It was better than expected. The staff is very friendly but only part of them seem to understand the concept of veganism.
Read moreWhen I picked up my tray next to the soup counter and I initially declined, explaining that I was vegan, an English-speaking staff member came over and listed all ingredients of a vegetable cream soup for me. The soup turned out to be vegan and I felt obliged to try it notwithstanding the warm temperatures outside. It was quite fine, though nothing I would come for again.
We then figured out that almost all salads and steamed veggies were vegan except for a beetroot salad that looked great but had some mayo mixed into it. The broccoli & cauliflower were decent, the aubergine & capsicum & tomato were delicious.
The counter thereafter had varieties of grains and rice mixed with finely chopped veggies, plain pasta, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, fries, and baked white beans in a tomato-herb sauce. I took a selection that was more than filling.
Staff ladies stated in Russian that all of this was vegan, but: One of thes staff ladies later, however, suggested I take a potato somsa. Then the English-speaking waiter reappeared and intervened, explaining that the somsa were made with animal fat. Later on, it came to my mind that some of the abovementioned grain/rice dishes might not have been 100 % safe either in light of the lady's understanding of veganism.
The risk of swallowing some animal fat or butter is a constant travel companion in Uzbekistan, so I decided to not return and inquire. If you want to be absolutely certain to avoid that risk, Broccoli is not your place.
Other than that, the atmosphere is nice and facilities are very clean. The fresh carrot juice was a perfect add-on.
The meal was relatively pricy for the fact that it was nothing special from a vegan point of view. I paid almost 140.000 Som for the tray. They did accept credit card.
Pros: Friendly staff, Location , Atmosphere
Cons: Not sure if veganism is understood correctly

Not vegan friendly - Edit
Salad bar where you pick your carbs, protein etc. Offers basically no vegan proteins besides baked beans (in a salad?!). SUPER expensive too. Not worth a visit.

Terrible options for vegans - Edit
There were absolutely no vegan proteins when we were there, so our lunch ended up being potatoes with barley and steamed veggies. This place may be trendy and cool but it sure is not vegan friendly! On top of all this, it’s way overpriced!

Super nice Self-service restaurant - Edit
Modern and refreshing restaurant. You can choose from different salads, side dishes, vegetables and pastries. There are are enough vegan dishes to choose from so you get a really big meal for 30.000 to 40.000 Som. Everything was really tasty and I would definitely recommend this place!

Good restaurant - Edit
They have quite a few salads and warm veggies to choose from. One lady spoke a little English. There are small and big bowls for salads. The employee fills them for you. You just choose the item. You'll be charged by size and not by weight. The restaurant is nicely decorated. We had a huge meal for about 55'000 Som. We were there on a Sunday, it wasn't busy. Toilet is in the basement, very nice! There's some kind of bar or additional seating in the basement. Good choice!

Plenty of choice for veggies and vegans - Edit
Centrally-located self-service cafe with a wide range of plant-based salads and hot dishes. My platter - rocket salad, vinaigrette (a Russian beetroot, carrot and pea salad), rice and beans with lemonade came in at under $5, so great value.

Cons: all good - no cons!
