HOT VEGAN 🔥🔥🔥

Stopped in June 2023 and asked for Dairy Coffee. Nope. Asked for honey. Nope. Broadfork is now 100% Vegan. I am a vegan of my word. As such, I have fully reinstated my 5-Star rating and endorsement of this beautofu food outlet. Long live Broadfork! Congrats!

* * * OLD REVIEW

NOT VEGAN

I used to eat here regularly, however, on a tip from a friend, I went in and confirmed this restaurant does in fact sell animal products (cow's milk). When I went to ask if true, my inquiry was met with the typical excuse: "We have to, it's like a gateway to bring people in." Typical speil. Nobody is going to walk out of the vegan cafe because they wanted anti-vegan food! What's that logic? However, there are plenty of vegans, myself included, that will walk out of a business that sells animal products.

When a non-vegan customer comes into the cafe and orders coffee, don't even ask, just give them plant-milk, if they complain and spit it out, (they won't) offer a refund or a different type of milk. Or maybe explain what the vegan sign outside actually means if they are confused.

Much better than lying to your vegan customers calling your business vegan and promoting it as such.

Please re-categorize as "vegetarian." And allow them to discover that it will cost them more money/business to sell animal abuse products than to boycott them. And please don't call your business vegan, when your business is not.

When anti-envrionment, cow-death-milk is off the menu, I will adjust my rating and review.

So delicious !

The artichoke sandwich with gluten free bread and the mushroom sandwich with gluten free bread was DELICIOUS! broccoli cheddar potato soup was salty. Matcha was good. Expensive but most vegan spots are

Pros: All vegan, Gluten free options

Cons: Expensive

Great lunch spot

I love their veggie kick bowl! It’s got a great balance of umami and spice. My partner has tried their kimcheese in the past but prefers the artichoke melt and also likes their desserts. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Edit: If you’re looking for a wrap, I recommend the spicy hummus wrap with tempeh. IMO the veggie kick is better as a bowl.

MUST TRY!!

I loved this place so much, the freshness in the food was incredible, the only downside had been that they were out of some ingredients and took longer than usual to bring out the food.

Pros: Healthy vegan options

Cons: Wait time

Best food hands down

Healthy, and exceptionally delicious, bowls - both the peanut bowl and the avocado tofu. Kim cheese and mushroom melt sandwich are to die for when you crave something slightly greasier. The lentil soup is good, but they recently got a tomato soup that was exceptional alongside one of their sourdough sandwiches.

The flu buster is my go to drink in winter, and every one of their smoothies is amazing. They usually carry Nanaimo bars, and their chocolate cupcake is excellent.

Has the best kind of vegan food.

I was surprised by the rich satisfying taste of the two bowls we ordered.

Cute place

Open for indoor and outdoor seating. Very friendly staff and very fresh and delicious sandwiches. I added tofu to my artichoke melt and I chose the green salad with it. Big portion. The green tea kombucha from the tap was a little bit overripe for my taste. The outdoor seating was not very inviting. They had a nice little artist exhibit inside and I totally loved it.

.

Tasty food with a bit of an old school vegan hippie vibe to the menu. If you’re in the mood for dessert, try the Nanaimo bar...SO good! Great place to sit with a coffee, juice, or beer and get some homework done.

Pros: WiFi

Cons: Terrible for parking

Great people great food! We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by.

Great people and great food! We loved it. The person at the counter who took our order was friendly and even got me the email of the place they get their yummy hot sauce from. Hubs tried a habenaro cider which he loved. Food was fresh and beautiful. Defiantly will stop again. Only off thing was the gluten free brownie was a little dry, but the taste was great and we ate it right up!

Pros: All vegan except they do have dirt for coffee, Fresh!!!!, Great service good attitude

Good casual cafe

Stopped in at 6pm on a Wed and lots of open tables available. Found street parking (free after 6pm) on 11th (a block away).

Enjoyed delicious grilled artichoke sandwich on sourdough bread and it came with a bowl of soup. I had the lentil soup which was delicious. My spouse had a salad (not enough dressing so it was too dry) and spicy cheddar broccoli soup, but he found the soup too salty for his healthy palate.

Pleasant cafe atmosphere with lots of windows to view street activity. Free WiFi.

Pros: All vegan menu , Desserts, Muffins, cookies, lattes, teas, Good sandwiches and soups

Cons: A little expensive (About $30 for 2 people), Street parking could be limited, Service could be slow if they are busy

Very fresh

My dad and I ate here for breakfast and it was really great !! The smoothies, the juices, the pastries, and the food have really great flavors! There’s also another location on the corner of Queen Anne St. They serve the whole menu all day except for the soups (not in the morning).

Pros: Great smoothies, Great flavor, Great bakery items

Sad breakfast.

I came in hopes of some good vegan food. I was met with disappointment when they only serve a breakfast portion of the menu before ten. This left me ordering avocado toast. Which was literally half an avocado spread on bread. I could have made it better my self at home.

They got 3 stars Because the juice is okay. I did a make your own got carrot ginger and kale. And it's pretty good.

Pros: good juice

Cons: horrible breakfast menu.
