Welcome and simple

This very simple café had lovely decor on the outside wall and inside above the counter. The menu is pure southern California Mexican, with a clearly labeled vegetarian portion, with many choices. I asked for the vegetarian enchiladas vegan style, and the waitress knew exactly what I meant. Black beans, rice, fresh corn tortillas, and a simple salsa Verde. I was in heaven with a cold beer. My companion, a meat eater, enjoyed his dish as well.

Pros: Clearly marked section of the menu , Exceptionally fast service, very friendly, Food was delicious and served piping hot

Cons: Simple - don’t expect anything fancy!

Bad service, bad food

The vegetable burrito #26 is exactly as it says on the menu - lightly seasoned vegetables with black beans in a burrito. $15 for that is insane. The least they could do is chop the vegetables small enough that it's not a struggle to eat. No horchata. For what it is, the food is ok but leaves a lot to be desired

The service was very bad. We were seated in the back area. We got our water and complimentary chips and salsa but had to wait upwards of 15 minutes just to get our order in. The air conditioning was blasting so hard that I had to put my hair up and the napkins on the table kept blowing away. When filling up our water, the waitress (the owners daughter who is too young to be waitressing) put her fingers on the rim of the glass. We had to walk to the counter to pay because we waited at the table for so long.

Overall the place feels overrun

Pros: Small vegetarian section

Cons: No horchata, High prices, Poor service
