Vegan dim sum - Edit
I've been dying to try a vegan dim sum place, and Bodhi Kosher Vegetarian definitely hit the spot. Everything tastes so authentic, just like the non-vegan versions I had in my childhood. I love the mom-and-pop vibe and easygoing ambiance. My favorites were the fried sticky rice dumplings and veg meat pastries. My non-vegan friends were impressed by the food as well - they couldn't tell it was entirely plant-based! Service was really quick, and the prices were reasonable. Definitely stop by this place if you're in NYC and craving some delicious & authentic vegan dim sum!

Fun and Yummy - Edit
Really fast service, and good food. However, it was a little hit and miss in that department. Some items were amazing (particularly the Singapore Noodles) but others weren't as good (veg shrimp steamed dumplings and sweet and sour veg ribs).
Read moreIt's a bit hard to tell if it's all vegan or just all vegetarian. Also MASSIVE portion size. Expect to share or have a lot to take home.
Overall I really liked it though, and would go again!

Wonderful Food - Edit
I was really excited to try the dim sum here, and it did not disappoint. We ordered an array of plates and found everything enjoyable. The spring rolls were delightful, and the ribs were an absolute revelation, I've never had anything like them before. I felt like we were able to try a lot of dishes and it was pretty reasonably priced.
Read moreHowever, our service was somewhat aggressive and strange and made me very uncomfortable. To "explain" how to order, the server physically grabbed one person's hand and put the pencil in it. She also started to massage/poke another member of our group. She described herself as "hot" and spouted a lot of nonsense about gender roles. It was not great. It seemed like all the other servers were acting like normal people, so perhaps we were just very unlucky.

Great food and service but a little pricey - Edit
Great food and tons of Chinese options, but it was a little pricey. I’m new to NYC prices and vegan food prices in general though, so judge for yourself!

Amazing Vegan Chinese restaurant - Edit
Located in China Town, this place has a fancy shop front.
Read moreThe inside is quite basic but, wahou they have an extensive menu. It’s kind of difficult to choose when you have all these mouth-watering options.
Their menu offers Dim sum, appetizers, buns, soups, main course (chicken, beef, lamb, duck, shrimp, jellyfish, etc.) and dessert.
2018: we went for the Chow fried rice with tofu, Rice rolls in soy sauce and Baked fried meat buns.
Every single dish was just very tasty, an explosion of flavors and came in a very good size. So it’s more than worth your money if you want nice, warmly, comfy and authentic Chinese food.
Sorry for the late review, but better late than never, right!

Highly recommend!! - Edit
I was only in NYC for four days and came to eat here twice. The food is delicious and you can't beat their lunch deal- only $8.95 for an entree and your choice of a spring roll or soup! Amazing food, nice atmosphere, great service. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the city!

Go here for dim sum! - Edit
This is my new favorite dim sum place in NYC. They are very gluten free friendly and have tamari for you if you are gluten free. They also have multiple gluten free items that are clearly marked on their menu. The dim sum was delicious, and I am definitely going back for more. I love this place.

Good food, big portions - Edit
I have only eaten here once but very much enjoyed it and will go back to experience more of the menu. This place is a bit low on atmosphere. The decor is basic and the lighting, just a bit too bright for my tastes. On the plus side the service is great and the staff are friendly and attentive. My friend and I did not have dim sum, we order a couple of main dishes. Both were very good and big. I would say compared to many other Chinatown restaurants of similar calibre, this place is a bit higher priced, but it's not outrageous.

So many options - Edit
A great vegan spot in Chinatown, with heaps of options including soup dumplings (I’ve never found vegan versions of these anywhere else so that was great to try). We also tried the turnip cakes and the sweet and sour chicken - both great. None felt very healthy, but that’s not what you go to a place like this for anyway. They also gave out free tea and fortune cookies, and had $7 house wines (good price for NY). I’d definitely return to try more if I could.

To die for - Edit
I spent a week in New-York and went to this restaurant THREE times. I had the chance to try a few dishes, and I loved it all. The room is not so big, and some of the tables are quite close, but the waitresses are great and the atmosphere is very nice.
Read moreWe ordered the wonton soup ($3.95) which was very tasty and comforting, as well as four different kinds of dim sum: fried taro dumplings, steamed taro dumplings, Cha Shui Baos and pan fried buns.
The fried taro dumplings were very surprising and tasty, but my favorite discovery was the veggie baos. The dough was so airy and tasty, and the mix of "meat" and veggies was incredible. I liked the steamed taro dumplings too, but they seemed quite basic after the baos. I didn't really enjoy the pan fried buns (they were ok, but not really to my taste, and I had never tried it before). The dim sum came by 3pieces per course.
I also tried the vegan BBQ meat ($12,95) with a bowl of white rice ($1,50). It's quite simple but it was very good, well seasoned, and the portions were generous.
It's an amazing place. I'm definitely coming back as soon as possible 🥲
Pros: Not that expensive, Very tasty food, Free tea
Cons: Tables can be quite close

I loved it - Edit
As for now, I’ve only been there once but I’ll come back for sure since I’m located near by and it was very good! There is a loooot of option and it took me time to make a choice. The dishes I had were excellent and it was the first time I tasted them even though I wanted to try them out for a long time : the wonton soup and the Sichuan beef with rice. Very tasty. I loved the dumplings in the wonton soup. As for the Sichuan dish it’s not for everybody since it has a particular flavor (I think it’s the peppercorns that makes it) but I’m glad I tasted it. Once again, I loved the free tea.
Read moreOn a Thursday night, it was quite crowded! I can’t wait to try the other dishes.
Edit : I’ve been there three times in total and it was so good and comforting each times. I tried the dumplings dim sum : I LOVED the fried taro dumplings and the meat buns, I liked less the steamed taro dumplings and the pan fried dumplings. I also tried the sesame chicken which was so so good.
