Be careful on the right side of the place there is fried noodle, they use egg so make sure you ask without it if you don't want.
I would recommand to drink their lime juice

Good local food - Edit
It's so cheap and really tasty. I ordered a noodle soup for RM 8 and my brother had the chicken rice which was the same price. Stuff is also really nice and the food was ready super quickly.

Nice local place - Edit
A place definitely not made for tourists, great authentic food. According to the (very nice) staff everything is "without meat, without egg, without dairy", so maybe even vegan?

We traveled through Malaysia for three weeks and found this place by the recommendation of a friend. We went there twice in one day and would have come back if out flight wouldn’t have been the next day.

Char kway teow is delish, flavourful and “energetic” - Edit
The “boss” has been frying the char kway teow for over 40 years now in his little stall, and interestingly he is not vegan nor vegetarian. He was actually making the non vegan version for quite some time, until one day a vegetarian/vegan(unknown) “big boss” took over the whole cafeteria and remodelled it to a vegetarian eatery so he had to come up with this vegan version to stay in business at the same old spot.

Lots of mock meat, very yummy! - Edit
All vegan, tons of choices, noodle curry or rice with sides. Lots of mock meat choices that were delicious! Very cheap, we both got rice and three choices and it came to 8myr each.
Read moreWhen we first turned up, we were a bit confused, but one of the waiters came over and showed us all the choices and how it worked. She told us we could dish out our own portions. Her English was very good. If you need help, just ask. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

Cold and not tasty - Edit
We both took from the buffet menu, wasn’t very clear how everything worked and the staff didn’t speak English well. A lot of fake meats which tasted pretty weird, some dishes were good but a few had really weird tastes. Besides this the food was all cold. As we took a little bit from everything we had to pay a lot for a small plate as we didn’t understand the concept.

blue boy never makes u blue - Edit
Please note, if you choose the buffet option, you get charged based on how many different items you choose, not per plate. Some reviewers have claimed they were overcharged for being tourists, I would say with 99.9% certainty that's not the case. They probably put little bits of many different dishes on their plates, hence the higher price. I have been going here for 12 years, have never been overcharged, and always treated kindly by the staff.
Read moreThe Blue boy is like a normal local malay cafeteria, with mostly pre-prepared dishes. The great thing here was being able to try many local specialities which had been off limits because of the meat factor. The Blue Boy replaces the meat with tofu or mock meat. We took a selection of fried snacks, such as stuffed green peppers and aubergines, wontons, and curry laksa. It was great to have a laksa and know that even the broth was vegetarian.
There is no menu, but the staff were very helpful.
Pros: Fully local style, Big range of treats, Helpful staff
Cons: Mostly pre-cooked

Mostly Chinese dishes - Edit
Last time I ordered from menu; mee soup and friend noodles. Both were tasty and total was 12RM. This time I choose 5 dishes from buffet with small rice, not the best but still good. It is not easy to understand how do they decide about pricing of plates. I paid 12RM for 5 different dishes. (But other customer paid 9RM even her plate was bigger than mine.) Still not expensive but with that price you can get more various amount of food from different places.
