But Why? - Edit
This restaurant is basically "Diet for a Small Planet" come to life- well intentioned but tasteless and disappointing. Going there feels like a throwback to the early days of veganism in the US, where basically all we ate were salted tomatoes and wheat berries. The nostalgia is nice but the food is not.
Read moreI suspect that many of the people who eat here have never had good vegan food, so when it's not totally disgusting they're impressed. But Portland has so many AMAZING vegan restaurants, so why make yourself eat expensive, disappointing collard rolls?
I guess what I'm saying is yes, you could go there, but why?
Pros: Friendly staff, Convenient location
Cons: Bad tasting food, Super expensive

not what I expected - Edit
The service was short and not very thoughtful. The tables are tiny. We ordered two small apps and two entrees, but for some reason our server brought all our food at once. It made it very difficult to navigate the placement of plates on the small table. The food was fine not anything spectacular. The live nachos were way too thick, meaning the crackers should have been spread thinner before they were dehydrated. Also the placement of the sauce on the nachos seemed sporadic and unintentional. The combination made for very dry nachos. The collard wraps were loose and fell apart. The tacos were pretty good. We liked the fingerling potatoes, but they were way too greasy, even the lettuce it came on was soaked in grease. Will probably go back because of the raw options.
Read moreUpdate: we came back to Portland again and gave lotus another try, unfortunately the waitress wasn’t attentive or helpful at all. TERESA was her name, she didn’t even ask if we needed anything else, the entire time we were just waiting for our food and she brought the check!!! The food is ok. But very bad customer service!

I was visiting Portland in September and my friend and I ate here. My friend is vegan and I am becoming more vegan than carnivore. As a (former) registered carnivore, I was very impressed by the food and drinks offered. I highly recommend Blossoming Lotus!

Great food! - Edit
We had the soup, burger, chickpea masala and the mushroom & bean dish. All of them bursting with flavor. The service was nice, we did had to wait 20 min and you cannot make reservations. But that did not bother us. The table next to us ordered 3 deserts and offered all of them to us (just to give you a feeling of the athmosphere, very friendly) and the chocolate plus apple crumble were to die for! I am from Amsterdam but this restaurant, 100% plantbased, is a gem!

Nice vegan restaurant with nice raw options! - Edit
A raw food place anywhere in the world should for me personally always deserve 5 star's, now it's of course not the goal of a review, it should provide some more objective inside for future visitors.
Read moreThe location was great, the staff lovely and the food is amazing.
They propose a lot of raw food options, lunch, dinner, desserts...
Great place to eat vegan, it's just a shame that the location is quite a walk from the centre.
Pros: Amazing raw food choice, Great taste
Cons: Location far from Portland centre

Enjoyed our meals on 3 occasions - Edit
Lovely food. If I got breakfast again I would skip the one that tries to imitate bacon and eggs, lacked any color at all. My husband got something that was more traditionally whole food and it was lovely with lots of greens. We both really enjoyed dinners, very artful and tasteful. Friendly staff.

I have eaten at this establishment several times in person and never had such horrid food quality.
I called the restaurant and was placed on hold for a long time and had to hang up and call again, AND PLACED ON HOLD AGAIN FOR A LONG TIME AND HAD TO HANG UP AGAIN. WHEN I CALLED BACK A THIRD TIME STAFF WAS RUDE WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A MANGER AND HUNG UP ON ME!?!?!?!?
I WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY AGAIN WITH THIS HORRIBLE RESTAURANT!!!!

I went once with family and then the next week for my birthday with friends! Great cocktails, impressive menu with a wide range of dishes. I was the only vegan in a group of 8 for my birthday, and everyone loved their good, especially the bibimbap and the cheeseburgers. The special blood orange margarita was also a big hit. On weekends, expect a wait.

this place turned me vegan - Edit
No kidding. This is the restaurant that inspired me to go vegan. I've been vegan since July 2016 and am absolutely loving it. The delicious green bowl here convinced me how tasty and refreshing healthy food can be. Their creativity with their menu and the heart that goes into their food has made me see and feel food in a whole new way! I neeeeever thought I'd ever be a vegan but now I can't imagine going back. Thanks Blossoming Lotus! Love!!!!!

Loved this place! The food was great and the atmosphere was classy with high ceilings mostly bistro tables. I had the squash tacos, DH had the Thai wrap. Followed by the chocolate triffle (really rich!) and an apple turnover. Everything was great and recommendable.
