The brunch slaps

Really great brunch spot if you’re in the neighborhood! We had the parfait and mushroom scramble, which were both delicious. Price was what I would expect.

Best Breakfast Burrito I've Ever Had

If you're looking for a healthy vegan breakfast burrito, the one at Blossoming Lotus is my number one pick. I'd also splurge for the Hot Date smoothie. 10/10

Hit or miss

Came here twice - first time had big portions, quick service, and a tasty meal. Second time, I ordered a breakfast burrito to go, but when I picked it up, they gave me a take-out box with some tortillas in tin foil. Why am I tipping if I have to make my own burrito?? Felt more like “make your own breakfast tacos.” Plus, the ratio of the contents in the box felt off - way too many beans. Not what I hoped for.

Pros: Big portions

Cons: Feels hit or miss -maybe getting takeout is risky?

Succulent, comforting and perfect

Stepping into The Blossoming Lotus, I was immediately enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, setting the tone for a remarkable vegan culinary adventure. The meal kicked off with an impressive array of appetizers, among which the cashew cheese spread was a true game-changer. Paired with perfectly toasted baguettes, the cheese was a creamy, smooth, and flavorful delight, challenging all my preconceptions of vegan cheese.

Another appetizer that left an indelible mark was their vegan macaroni and cheese. It was a masterpiece of plant-based cooking, boasting a creamy texture and a deeply comforting, homely flavor that was both luxurious and reassuringly familiar.

The main course, a burger made from lentils and walnuts, was a revelation in vegan cuisine. The patty was firm, yet succulent, and packed with rich, satisfying flavors that rivaled any traditional meat burger. This dish was a testament to the chef's ability to transform humble ingredients into a gourmet experience.

But the culinary journey didn't stop there. The evening was further elevated by a unique winter cocktail, a harmonious blend of peach brandy, cloves, cinnamon, and lemon, sourced from a local distillery. This drink was the perfect amalgamation of sweet and spicy notes, creating a warming sensation that was ideal for the season.

In conclusion, The Blossoming Lotus is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven for those seeking inventive, flavorful, and satisfying vegan cuisine. Every dish, from the appetizers to the main courses, was crafted with care and creativity, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine dining with a conscious edge.

Great dining experience for vegans

I love this restaurant bc the menu has good healthy options and not just imitation meats and mayo based sauces. They serve so much more than that. They have “home cooked”meals and well thought out recipes. I’m tired of vegan fast food being the top rated places. This is not fast food! I’ve eaten here for brunch and early dinner. This time I got the nachos, wow the chips were amazing! Nut-based chorizo! Loved it all.

Pros: Hearty and healthy plant-based meals , Real plant decor , Outdoor seating

Tastebud Explosion

Green bowl with seasoned tofu very good. BBQ bowl with black beans Mac n cheez, apple slaw, bbq soy curls will rival any southern cuisine. Corn bread and green smoothies for dessert. Doesn’t get much better.

Awesome!

Came here with 7 people. Dragged a bunch of non-veg people and EVERYONE was blown away by the food. Also the apple crisp is one of the best desserts I have ever had.

Yummy Vegan for all!

We would give 4.5 stars if we could.
We really enjoyed our time at this location, as we sat out on their little patio. I ordered the burger... holy crap best I've ever had (and I've been vegan since 2012).
My husband had the tacos, and was a bit underwhelmed, but he liked that it came with the beans on the side. My daughter had the side of my mac and cheese and that was quite nice.
Bit expensive, but a tasty treat!

Pros: Options, burger

healthy and tasty vegan cuisine worth checking out

I first went to Blossoming Lotus many moons ago. It has always been great. I went here again recently with my beloved.

We split an order of raw nachos. This is a must order and are fabulous.

For drinks my beloved got the Assam tea and I got the turmeric tea.

Quinton was our waiter and he was very friendly with good suggestions on what to order.

I went with the Yakisoba Noodles and my beloved went with the cheese burger. I enjoyed the noodle dish and she loved her veggie burger.

Recommended!

Best Portland has to offer

I was excited to try this restaurant bc of the great reviews. I'll admit I was skeptical due to high expectations.
The service and food here beat all of my high expectations!

RAW Live Nachos: completely expected these to "not taste like nachos", you know. I was so wrong! The flavor profile of these is amazing! Must order! My non-vegan friend said it was one other best things he's eaten in a long time!

BOOST juice: fresh and delicious, would order again! Def balanced the meal.

BBQ Bowls: Wow! What an unexpected flavor profile. Lots of different flavors and textures. Wasn't as sweet as one might expect from BBQ, but was new and interesting, especially when you start to mix things around the bowl.

DESSERT: Do yourself a favor and make THIS the day you get dessert! We got the pie or cobbler or whatever it was called and we were glad we did! Absolutely delicious!

The food here surpassed all expectations, and the outdoor seating was nice (they have indoor too!)

Pros: RAW OPTIONS, Delicious unique food, Great service and location!

Great fresh foods and flavors

Even though the outdoor table we sat at was right up against the street, because it was enclosed and had nice lighting and ambiance, it felt special and fun. Our dog in his stroller fit nicely right alongside our table. We had a really good zero proof drink and wine, good yakisoba, and a mind-blowing flatbread special with peaches, tomatoes, beets, squash, and jalapeño pesto. Our server was super nice and gave us good advice. We were very glad we listened to the server's recommendation on that special. It was inspiring!

Pros: Great unique and fresh flavors, Good drinks, Friendly and helpful staff

Good food but overpriced for what you get

Food was good but smallish portions and expensive for what you get. A sandwich and a cup of soup is $18. Server was very nice. It’s not that I wouldn’t return but it wouldn’t be my go to place.

Pros: Taste, Freshness, Service

Cons: Expensive

Excellent place for dinner and drinks (and Brunch!)

Really enjoyed the cocktails, the salad sandwich, and the buffalo salad. The nachos tasted great, but not what I expected. Ask for a description before ordering. The apple crisp desert with some local ice cream was excellent. Friendly staff and convenient location with parking on adjacent streets.

Edit: we came back for brunch and wow. The food was so good. We had the lotus benedict, summer vegetable hash, and the pancakes. Come with friends as the portions are big and it’s fun to share.

Delicious benedict!

Came here for the lotus benedict after seeing the pictures. It was delicious and not too heavy of a meal. The lemon hollandaise was amazing, I didn’t expect it to be that good!
They have nice outdoor seating and are close to Eb & Bean, a vegan ice cream place. Next door is Pete’s for some coffee.

Pros: Healthier but comforting plates, Nice atmosphere

So good for brunch!

Went here for brunch the other day. The eggs Benedict is so good. The tofu scramble is very flavorful and the biscuits are great. Also try the coconut cream chai! Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The area is cute to walk around.

Must try their pancakes!! Egg Benedict was just ok

Pancakes are so fluffy and airy and tasty!!! I went in having high expectation with their eggs Benedict but I found it to be a bit too greasy for me, luckily I had a great partner that “happily” traded her pancakes with me, and boy oh boy were them delicious!!!

Wanted just a bit more

Went for brunch and we both had the Benedict. It was definitely good, but didn’t quite hit the spot as a fancier brunch place. The kale served on the side was plain, the hollandaise a bit too lemony, and while everything tasted pretty good and felt pretty healthy, we wanted a bit more. Definitely worth the visit, but not super high on our list of “must visit again”.

What a disappointment

We arrived for the Saturday brunch. The place was less than half full. The person that sat us did not seem to be happy to be there. He gave us water and then abandoned us for over fifteen minutes. One he took our oder food was out in five minutes. Except they didn’t bring the entire order. They didn’t check back to see if everything was okay. Finally we got their attention.
The food was very good. Absolutely no doubt about that. We had the kale and chickpea salad, Thai wrap and soup. The drinks were just okay. We had the hot apple crisp for dessert. It was good but a little too sweet.
The final problem was they were slow in bring the check. After they took my credit card I got a notice from my credit card company that a $76 charge had been approved. Immediately I get another notice that a $284 charge had been approved. They claimed that they had left the card too close to the reader. They then refunded the $76 charge and told me that the $284 didn’t go through. So then I had to call my credit card company to straighten things out.
The food isn’t good enough to put up with the poor service and cavalier attitude with credit cards.

Pros: Good Food

Cons: Expensive , Bad service , Poor attitude

Diverse Menu, Incredible Soy Curls

I've come here several times and always been pleased. They have some menu options on the healthier side too, which really let the ingredients shine. The soy curls especially add so much to many dishes.

Vegan brunch!

We came to Blossoming Lotus for brunch and enjoyed our meal! The breakfast tacos and chai were particularly good. I was a little disappointed in the nachos, they were more like crackers with toppings. This was a fun place to try and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood afterwards.

Cons: Slow service

Another very good rice bowl

Whew - I have had lots of rice bowls in Portland.
I am systematically working my way through NE Portland's vegan eateries and Blossoming Lotus was my lunch destination yesterday.
I asked the server what the most popular gluten-free item was on the menu and they told me that it was the Bibimbap. So that is what I ordered.
There was a very good selection of items in the bowl - soy curls, broccoli, brown rice, marinated button mushrooms, pickled carrots and daikon radish, and a few other items.
It was tasty.
They marinated and sauced the soy curls VERY well. They had some good bold flavour.
It was a good filling meal.
The bowl was 18$ which is on the very top end for a meal for me.
The service was good.

Pros: Filling and tasty

Cons: A tad on the expensive side for me
