What I think KFC might taste like. - Edit
The first time I tried blissful bird I was in heaven. The texture was wonderful, I like that it's not in the shape of meat but squares or triangles, and the flavour... Oh man! It's amazing!!

The fries: Well done shoestring fries - a good balance of salt and umami.
The sandwich: The highlight of the meal, naturally. Very generously sized - I'm a big guy and it was plenty filling for me. Flavour-wise, fantastic - their spicy mayo is actually spicy, great hits of sour from the pickles, and well-spiced breading on the chickun. Further, the bun was perfection - soft, fluffy, and the perfect texture for a chickun sandwich. I also appreciated that they wrapped the sandwich in paper for transport to keep it separate from the fries and coleslaw - even after the Uber Eats journey to my door the sandwich was hot, fresh, and not soggy.
What could have been done better: the chickun is pretty salty, and I'm not crazy about it texture-wise. On the fake meat tofu-seitan spectrum, it's closer to a tofu than a seitan. Good for anyone who is turned off by overly-realistic plant meat, bad for anyone sensitive to salt (I quite like salty food, so I didn't mind). Not sure how well the chickun would work on its own, but it's definitely good in a sandwich.
Overall a great meal, and great value too! Definitely getting their food again.

I was sad to hear their previous location would be closing down but super happy for the owner and the current team for all the hard work they’ve put into the relaunch. The food is incredible. I highly recommend.
