Serves meat, vegan options available. Assembly line concept pizzeria chain offering build-your-own personal size pies. Has vegan cheese, soy chorizo, gluten-free pizza base as well as salads. Choose a pizza base, sauce (marinara or hot red), veggies and toppings, and cheese, or get the pre-designed vegan pie. Reported that select locations offer a soy-based popcorn "chicken." The cinnamon bread is vegan by default. The cheesy bread needs to be ordered with the vegan cheese option. Open Mon-Thu 11:00am-10:00pm, Fri-Sat 11:00am-11:00pm, Sun 11:00am-10:00pm.

What An Experience…. - Edit
I’ve never been to Blaze before, and I felt like the person helping me hadn’t either 😆
Read moreI asked how to order and I got a mumbled response and was left a bit confused. I eat out a lot and don’t feel like I have issues like this elsewhere, so I don’t *think* it was me.
I asked what the vegan options were and got another mumbled response and so I just tried my best to order as I would at MOD pizza. I asked for vegan cheese and some vegan meat crumbles with barbecue sauce (which I assume they have?) Hard to tell because their menu doesn’t say!
I’m attaching a photo of my pizza which honestly looks so sad. There is no sauce, the crumble wasn’t evenly spread, and funny enough I specifically asked for red bell peppers and the person misheard and gave green ones. People, I’m not being humorous, I’m fairly convinced the person who helped me was in fact blazed themselves. I watched them walk into the wrong door when they were trying to go to the bathroom?
The pizza itself wasn’t bad even without sauce! But wow the customer service was quite interesting. The atmosphere was also just not great. Torn seats, lock didn’t work in the bathroom, signs falling all over the place, confusing menu.
Additionally, it’s expensive for what it is and they really prevent you from getting too many toppings! MOD Pizza beats Blaze by a landslide!
My takeaway is: order online and pickup and save your sanity from having to enter this spot. The food itself is likely pretty good, but the customer service is an experience I still have a good laugh at to this day 😆
Updated Review:
Okay so I’ve put my theory to the test! I ordered online and did pickup, and it was a MUCH nicer experience. They have a clearly labeled Vegan pizza on their site, it’s tasty, made quickly, etc. The customer experience is consistently poor, and so I’d highly suggest ordering online and reducing interactions with staff. I’m sure they’re more-than-nice people, but they’re so incredibly unhelpful when ordering in person. Bumped up a star!

Good options - Edit
While I mostly make my own pizza (hooray for an overactive sourdough starter!) this place is a go-to for days out and about with my partner. If we want something warm and filling, Blaze is a great option! Some days I can eat the whole personal pizza but on other days I may bring half of it home. The cheese is good and melts well, I love the topping options and they always offer to change gloves! The staff are curt but sweet and the line can sometimes run out the door. It’s great during off hours as the food quality is the same, since it’s made one at a time. Would highly recommend for people who are switching to vegan options and want to see what vegan pizza can be. (Although I will say it can be better, this is a good, solid start!)

Pizza is good - Edit
The pizza is good just like any Blaze. I love the soy chorizo. If you want more toppings then just ask! It’s usually crowded during lunch and the afternoons especially on the weekend. Service can get a bit slow

good - Edit
great vegan pizza, great vegan cheese (its not the gross old daiya)
Read morethe vegan chorizo is too spicy and I wish they had vegan pepperoni instead
the workers are very stingy about the amount of toppings though and the pizza is 9 45 so for 10 bucks its not all that worth it
The lemonaid is pure sugar

Not worth it - Edit
Pizza was okay. It was small and pricey. Lines were out the door and I have no idea why. I would not recommend unless you are desparate.

Yummy Vegan Pizza! - Edit
Blake Pizza is inexpensive, popular with students, and is Chipotle-style-build-your-own type of service. Very nice staff. Tell them immediately that you are vegan. They will change gloves, and use Daiya, only one sauce is ok, and make sure to remind them to use a clean pizza cutter at the end. There is usually a line, but it moves very fast.

vegan pizza! - Edit
Blaze is really good for vegans. They totally understand that they should change their gloves when you tell them you're ordering a vegan pizza. They even go out of their way to show you that they are cutting the pizza with a clean cutter. The crust and tomato sauce are automatically vegan. Then you can add Daiya cheese and tofu chunks. The make-your-own pizza option is best. You can add all of the veggie toppings your heart desires. This is truly a fantastic, relaxing dining experience!

Most vegan-friendly pizza place in Davis! - Edit
Blaze is the best! The review before mine covers their excellent vegan options (you can get a fully done pizza with cheese and even lil fried chick'n pieces) but what really takes the cake for me is that Blaze employees consistently offer to change their gloves between touching dairy/meat and touching my food. It's a small gesture but it makes me feel taken seriously and it means the world.
Read morePros: So many vegan options!!, Respectful and informed, Affordable (I take leftovers so 2 meals for $8)
Cons: Why is the pizza always burnt on the bottom, I can get past it because of everything else but, Why
