Lots of vegan options - Edit
I tried the charcoal vanilla ice cream (wow) but there were many others (pictured vegan dark chocolate and vegan berry). Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the northcote area and want a vegan treat.

We loved having all the choices at Black Waffle, but eventually settled on the choice which included nuts and chocolate.

Decent little place with a nice selection of vegan ice cream. We go everytime we have dinner on high street because this place is awesome.

Waffles and Icecream - Edit
Perfect place for desserts or savoury bagels. Most things can be made vegan. They have awesome soy fresh chai lattes and coffee is spot on. Nice spot for both winter and summer. Take away icecream and their ice cream cakes are great to take to dinner parties.

I had two scoops of vegan icecream on a waffle cone - mint choc chip and caramel. It was delicious and the caramel icecream was exceptional... I look forward to coming back to try more vegan desserts!

The gelato is top tier, the richest dark chocolate ever and happens to be vegan, right now they have hazelnut, caramel crunch and choc mint which are fantastic! However, I agree with verbosity, their waffles are sub par as is everything else I've tried (lamingtons from Nine Bakery and cookies [choc chip, and double choc chip] although from wholesalers). So, stick to the ice cream.

Fantastic gelato - Edit
The gelato is amazing and I take everybody here to try it out. The waffles are also a must have but it depends on the flavour you get. I want a fan of the lemon shortbread as it was a bit too tangy, but the hazelnut one was incredible. You can build your own as well

Lemony Lickets - Edit
The lemon shortbread waffles were beautifully presented but a little chewy and too much lemon rind for my liking. The menu indicated it is served with vanilla gelato which they substituted for a very dark chocolate to make it vegan; I think one of the other 5 vegan flavours may have worked better and I would have liked to have had the choice.

Since going vegan in 2013, I haven’t yet had waffles like these. They were so beautiful. I tried the hazelnut topped ones and my partner had some mint choc ice cream which was also amazing!

Pretty good waffles - Edit
There's quite a few vegan options on the menu. Waffles are small but very filling. The dark chocolate sorbet and chocolate sauce are too rich for me but my friend liked it. Only 4 vegan gelato flavours and they are all fruit so all the best flavours aren't vegan. Good choice of waffle flavours.

So many choices! - Edit
I was so surprised to find that most items in the menu can be veganised - and I'm always torn between bagels and waffles, because I have proven that I can't fit both in my stomach! I usually opt for a bagel (including vegan cream cheese), with a huge iced chocolate (including the. chocolatiest vegan chocolate ice cream). Other times, if I forgo my 'proper' lunch, I LOVE to hoe into the chocolatey strawberry waffle with vegan custard. I've also been known to pop in for an ice cream for dessert after dinner nearby. They also have some vegan cakes, biscuits and slices at the counter. This is a family favourite!
