Nice interior, restaurant and shop with some rare goods (vegan protein powders, some supplements, sweets etc.). We tried some bowls. The BALI bowl was huge, and delicious. Unfortunately, it wasn’t styled wery well - there was lots of sprouts on the top (you couldn’t see anything else), all sauce on one side and all rice was in the bottom. But there was no space to mix it together. #Veganuary

Many of my visits to this place were rather non-pleasant. Every time I ordered potato fries to my burger, they were either undercooked or oversalted. Burger (avocado seitan) was great though. Serves vegan, vegetarian and raw dishes and sells some other vegan products.

Black Kale is a sweet venue with garden seating and friendly staff but I found the meals not very tasty. The beetroot burger was bland, not seasoned at all. The zucchini patties were dry and tasteless and the potato salad tasted funny. The oyster mushroom soup was fine and the fries were also good. The meals are extremely overpriced though. Their basic beyond meat burger for 279 CZK is the most expensive I have seen in this country and 65 CZK for a soup is also on the expensive side. The drinks are affordable, rich selection and really good. They also sell some healthy snacks like yoghurts, kimchi, mylks and snacks. Sundays open only until 3:30 p.m.

I visited Black Kale with my friends, as it was the only open veg restaurant in Ostrava on Sunday. The restaurant has a nice garden. The waiting time was rather long and the food we ordered didn't come at the same time - when my plate arrived my friends have already finished eating.

Great vegan menu, really cosy place. Really good beer from local brewery You just have to choose Bowl or Asian food not burgers. Sadly we ordered two Tex-Mex Burgers that were dry, tasteless and we waited for almost an hour. We ordered two Portobello burgers and were told that they have only the last portion at the moment the last portion was served and we already waited for half an hour. We weren't offered any compensation. After we ordered Prosecco, waited for 20 minutes were told it's gonna be served warm, than waited 15 minutes and told Prosecco is out of stock. It's really sad because this place has Great potential and I believe you might we enjoy your time and food there.

We only ordered one spinach burger, yet we waited over 30 minutes, even though the restaurant didn't seem very busy and I even noticed people who came after us got their meals earlier. The food was good, but I'm not sure if it was worth the price and the wait time.

We have been waiting for our food almost 40minutes while there was only few people in the moment so definitely it was not busy. We have ordered pizza and portobello burger. We got some kind of cake instead of pizza and it was bit tasteless and a bit dry as well. Our portobello burger was missing tzatziki which was written in the menu. Also customer service needs to be improved. We left disappointed. There is no reason for next visit from us.

A nice place situated in the city center (next to Antonin Dvorak theater) that has a wide offer of vegan and raw vegan foods. Offers burgers, pizza, wraps, fries, pancakes, crepes... We've tried burgers and pizza, which were amazing - especially the portobello burger. Pancakes were nice too but not sweet at all which in the end taste bitter because of the high amount of cocoa in the 'nutella' spread. Wait time can be a bit longer sometimes.

We have a tradition of going to Ostrava every spring to a yoga festival. This year (2018) was not an exception and on Friday we were looking forward to enjoy vegan meal in a restaurant (Ojero) that we discovered few years prior. After confidently walking around for a while, we decided to check the address on the internet, only to find out that it is permanently closed. It was getting late and it was Friday, so we checked HappyCow and found that Black Kale is close to our location and "closing soon".
Read moreWe arrived to Black Kale just in time to make an order before the kitchen closed. They take orders till 20:00, the restaurant closes at 20:30, but they obviously do not kick people out at that time nor try to hurry you to finish your dinner on time.
On Friday, there were two of us and we had a portobello burger (delicious) and acapulco tortilla (also delicious), both with a small green leafs salad. Everything tasted very good, the ingredients were fresh, it looked very nice... Perfection!
On Sunday we went back there again, again few minutes before the kitchen was closing. In a company of 6 people, we had the opportunity to enjoy more items from their menu: a raw pizza, another kind of tortilla, Vietnamese Pho soup, ... And once again, we were leaving very satisfied (and with a raw cake "to go").
Overall, it is a very nice place, the staff is nice and helpful (and patient) and the food is very, very good. There are cooked and raw versions of similar foods (pizza, wraps, pancakes). For me, it would be too expensive (and "too good") to eat there every day, but it is a perfect place for special occasions, eating out with friends or indulging ourselves. The meals are definitely worth the price.

Their vegan gluten-free pizza is absolutely unbelievable, the best one I have ever had! I really enjoy their drinks as well. The interior is very modern and cosy. The staff is always very kind, never fails to ask me how I enjoyed my food and generally the atmosphere there is great. The best vegan place in Ostrava right now.
