Absolutely incredible welcome to Portland - Edit
We arrived in town today and immediately went here on a recommendation from local vegans, and it was absolutely incredible. I had the Benny's Brisket, and the rest of my party had a Reuben and a New Yorker - the first two were the best. Can't speak to how crowded they usually are, as I was there close to closing time.

So delicious! We stopped by here on our way to the airport as we ended our trip to visit friends in Portland. We will definitely be back and will try their other locations if we are near them.

Had an egg/cheese bagel, we arrived too early to get the smears, but the sandwich was amazing anyways. I can't wait to go back!

Best. Breakfast. Sandwich. - Edit
Ben and Esther's have put together some of the best (vegan) bagel sandwiches in Portland (or in this universe). I recommend any of their egg sandwiches, but steak egg and cheese is my favorite. The latkes are next level too!

Incredible - Edit
Coming from NY I wasn’t expecting to love my BEC on a bagel as much as I did. I had mine on a salt bagel and it was incredible. My sister had a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and loved it. My other sister had the cream cheese veggie sandwich on an everything bagel and also enjoyed very much. We also tried the black and white. Everything was incredible! #Veganuary

Bagelicious - Edit
I once tried visiting the Seattle location and the queue was looping out the door, so I gave up. I arrived shortly after opening on a Saturday at this location and found it much more manageable. The bacon/egg/cheese sandwich was a perfect breakfast treat on a rainy day. They also had bags of “Day old” bagels on-sale and many containers of cream cheese. I’ll be looking forward to coming back and trying all the other varieties !

A damn good deli! - Edit
So far I've had their bagels with cream cheese and the reuben. Both have been awesome. I'm pretty sure the Reuben is as close as you can get to actual Reubens. I've never had an actual Reuben, so that must be taken into account. I'm definitely making this a favorite bage/ lunch spot!
Pros: All Vegan!, The most reubeny Reuben I've ever had , Bagels and "cream cheese"
Cons: I don't understand the question

New favorite Vegan food in Portland - Edit
Wow is this place incredible! I just went there for the first time at the end of September 2022. I went there on a Monday, then I went there on Wednesday, and then I went there on Friday. I was visiting from California and I was blown away by this place. I sure hope they have a successful future and expand all over California and beyond. They have so many amazing options of food, it’s incredible! My two favorites are the Reuben and the brisket. But the Grand Puba for $25. Wow! I definitely want to try all the sandwiches here. One by one.

The bagels were so good. Everything is vegan which is great. Not many coffee options and the sweets seemed to mostly be sold out by the time we got there. Overall a great experience

Amazing!! - Edit
I’m a vegan Jew, so I’ve been missing out on the jewish deli experience for quite some time. I was really happy to see that there’s a jewish deli, and I thought the food was incredible. Got the lox, knish, white fish salad, and the cinnamon roll. Everything was amazing. My partner says the lox was pretty close to the real thing (I’m allergic to salmon, I’ve never had it) but the whitefish salad was a little off.

Everything I have tried here is so dang good. The lox bagel is amazing. The turkey bacon sandwich is huge and so flavorful. The egg and cheese bagel was very good, but would be better with a sauce or something. It was a little dry.

Great variety! - Edit
Tried first time a few months ago... absolutely loved the bagels, the toppings, the variety of bagel sandwiches and regular sandwiches. Coffee was good too. Wish I had gone before covid hit as I have nothing to compare the atmosphere to. You couldn't sit inside and only a couple tables outside...hoping this will change soon with the restrictions changing. I will definitely be back!

Best Breakfast Bagel - Edit
I’ve been wanting to try Ben & Esther’s since they opened, and finally had a chance to enjoy their stellar Egg, Cheese, Bacon breakfast bagel (everything bagel). All the textures were there: chewy bagel, crispy bacon, fluffy egg, and gooey cheese. The flavors: smoky, salty, eggy, nutty. Their bacon is the most authentic Vegan bacon I’ve tried. Amazing. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu!

I had been dying to try this place and my friend treated me to lunch. We both got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches - hers on a garlic bagel and mine on an onion bagel. I also wanted to try the matzo ball soup. It was my first time eating it vegan and holy moly, I have missed it. So much flavor! I can’t to come back and try the lox bagel sandwich!
