Best vegan waffles I’ve had - Edit
I was really impressed with the food. I had the vegan/gluten-free waffles and decaf oat milk latte. I would recommend.

Churro Waffle + Chai - Edit
Seconding leaf in saying that the chai here is BOMB. So good, so spicy, and they were able to make it less sweet for me upon request. The churro waffle was warm, buttery, and delicious.

They have vegan waffles, one vegan pastry, and non-dairy milk available but it’s nothing super special!

Great coffee and pastries - Edit
I love this place. They make the best chai latte out of anyone aside from legit Indian places, and they always have at least one vegan pastry available. There could be a few more vegan options maybe, but that's my only complain. The vibe is retro and cool and I love this place, go give them business, they're great

Vegan waffles and plant milks - Edit
I had the cinnamon waffle/vegan butter with an oat milk latte and it was great! Plenty of plant milk options and the staff was incredibly nice.

Decent coffee shop - Edit
I had an everything bagel with hummus and a vegan banana ball. They also had vegan waffles and empañadas when I went. It was decent hummus. Unfortunately they did not carry any vegan cream cheese or butter options. They definitely weren’t focused on vegan/vegetarian cuisine, but it was nice to have a couple options.

Cons: No vegan cream cheese.

Decent - Edit
A variety of options which is nice if you have non vegans. The staff was nice and tried to help the long line as quickly as possible.
Read moreVegan items labeled clearly, but note crackers w the gluten free vegan soup are not gluten free. The vegan gluten free muffin was so soft and good I was almost suspicious I got the wrong one.
I started to purchase the Hario teapot I love (and recently ruined at home) here but it was $150 and Williams and Sonoma sells it for $62 so be warned, I would buy you kitchen items somewhere else.
Pros: Friendly staff , A few decent vegan/gf options
Cons: Pricey cookware , Potential long lines , Limited gf stuff

Awesome coffee shop in SoDu - Edit
Love this place! They always have some fun seasonal beverages, as well as some excellent staples. I appreciate the variety of food options available, which they clearly label vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.

Great neighborhood coffee shop - Edit
I love Bean Traders to hang out with free Wi-Fi and good coffee. They have vegan waffles, bagels, hummus and are always happy to bring out your favorite non-dairy creamer. They carry Vegan Lover food and desserts which are amazing, BUT they don't always keep them in stock. So, it's a let down when they are out. Still kudos to the hippest, most laid back, spacious, most vegan friendly hang out in south Durham.

Vegan Waffles! - Edit
I've been going to Bean Traders for years for coffee/lattes, and the occasional vegan treat. I love their chocolate habanero coffee with almond milk. I was beyond thrilled when I found out they started offering vegan waffles...EVERY DAY! (the waffles just happen to also be gluten free, which I wasn't thrilled about at first but the taste and texture is fantastic!). Comes with vegan butter. You can order blueberry compote and/or real maple syrup to top it off. (fake maple syrup available for no extra charge). The owners Christy and Dave are the kindest people on the planet and I love supporting them.
