Love this place

I try to come here whenever I'm in the area. So many vegan options. Momos are incredible. And don't ignore the ginger and tamarind soda!

Excellent food and service

Thought we’d try here since where we were going was out of lunch fare for the day.

That being said we were not disappointed in any way. From the beautiful food to our mango lassies everything was great.

I had their tofu and mushrooms chili. My wife had jackfruit and mushrooms takari. We had bread and dumplings for apps and chia pudding for desert.

Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance

Cons: Basement location in an old New England building.

Love this place

The vegan options are plentiful and tasty. The staff is great and helpful and you can specify your desired level of spicy heat. We are in Hanover once a year in July and this is always our first choice for dinner. This year we tried the noodle stir fry with tofu and it was excellent. And the chia pudding for dessert is a tasty finish for the meal.

Pros: Lots of vegan options. , Friendly staff , Gluten free options are specified on the menu.

Cons: No outdoor dining.

Clearly marked vegan items, nice atmosphere, I got the vegan momo dumplings, which were pretty good. Kind of expensive for the amount of food though.

Pros: Good atmosphere, good vegan options, good taste

A+ dumplings and great portions

Many clearly marked vegan items. Get the vegan momo dumplings — some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions were huge and the vegan stir fry noodles, although basic, had amazing flavor and the veggies were super fresh. We had a carnivore with us and they said the chicken plate they got was also 10/10. Not sure if it wasnt busy because of covid or not but our takeout order was ready in 15 minutes. Super fast.

Pros: Big portions, Price to portion ratio is good , Fast and friendly service

Cons: Could be considered expensive if eating alone

Gem in Hanover

Well described vegan options on the menu. Service very welcoming. We tried the vegetable MoMo appetizer and a side of flatbread. Also had Gundruk soup for the first time, a MUST with sun dried mustard greens and textured soy in tomato base. Our entrees were potato tarkari and mushroom chili.

All dishes authentic Nepal recipes. Cooked to order. Many spicy, server asked for heat on 1-10 scale. I said 7. He said go with 6. It was enough! Next time I’ll try a five. 😝

Pros: Well labeled vegan options, Rare cuisine, Friendly service

Cons: Expensive

Clear cut menu

Ate by myself while visiting the town with family in local hospital. The sautéed kale was fantastic and my favorite. Had lentil dal soup, it was decent, had vegetable dumplings- yummy. Main dish for me was beans and mushroom Tarkari, they ask you how spicy you want it- I said medium but it turned out pretty hot for me. There was white rice and the bread is vegan. Not whole grain but pretty tasty. The chia pudding dessert was fantastic, only bummer was it was a small serving but I was unsure what they sweetened it with so probably for the best if your avoiding added sugars.

Pros: Dishes clearly marked vegan on menu , All courses have a vegan option, Delicious and reasonable pricing

Cons: Hot dishes were spicier than expected.

Amazing Nepali food

Vegan momo dumplings and yellow lentil dal are beloved by our kids. Parents love the spicy gundruk soup with soy protein. Tofu and vegetable tarkari, curries, and noodle stir fried are all delicious. Vegan blueberry almond chia pudding makes a great dessert. They also have almond milk available for their awesome chai.

Amazing

Base Camp is one of our top 5 restaurant choices in the area. Even though they do have meat, I would still give them a 5 star- it is that good. Staff is incredibly friendly and there are so many great vegan options, including unique deserts.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Friendly staff, Lovely atmosphere

Cons: Expensive , Small restaurant , Does serve meat

Delicious but kinda expensive

We had a bunch of dishes included mushroom chili, tofu takari, veggie momos, sautéed kale, bread, dal. All was great but not great value. Small portion of rice, dal and bread were extra etc. The sautéed kale was v modest size but delicious - but it was $8 at lunch. Still, I’d recommend the restaurant. 😄

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty food, Mono happy hour!

Cons: Dark interior as it is in a basement, Price and smallish portions

lots of vegan options!

They have a lot of clearly-labeled vegan items on the menu. We had the veggie mo mo, the tofu tarkari (curry), sweet potato tarkari, and veggie stir-fry noodles. All the dishes were delicious.

It was really crowded and we wouldn't have gotten in without a reservation - although it was Dartmouth graduation weekend so this may not be typical.

Pros: clearly-labed vegan options, delicious!

Cons: crowded

so many options!

I stopped with a meat eating friend, after an appointment at Dartmouth. There were so many options. My friend was willing to try a few vegan options, the soup, and Mo Mo's,
The vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. And the staff was very helpful with any questions.
This would be a great choice for a group of people with different diets.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Very tasty!

This quite little nook hidden in the bottom level of a small shopping center is a great spot to grab a bite.
The food is freshly prepared, and therefore easily customizable to all sorts of dietary preferences. The menu is ample with many clearly labeled vegan options. Portions are generous and filling. The level of spice in a dish can be chosen to be from 1-10.
The staff was super friendly and the service was very efficient. Food came out quickly, piping hot, and tasting great. I don’t have too much experience with Nepalese cuisine, but this did not seem overly westernized.
I had the vegetable mo mo (sort of like dumplings) and the takari curry with tofu, and both were very good. I only wish the mo mo had a bit more filling, but I appreciate that they were steamed rather than fried. I ordered my takari curry with level 1 spice, so the tomato based curry sauce tasted mildly sweet, but this actually went very well with the tofu and various veggies.
I will certainly be returning as I had a great experience. Definitely the most vegan-friendly menu in Hanover.

Pros: good food, lots of vegan options , great service

Cons: a bit pricey

Delicious and special

We had a really hard time choosing from all of the amazing vegan options, which were clearly labeled on the menu!

Loved the vegetable momo, tofu chilli, plantain tarkari, sweet potato chhoila, and sauteed kale. The lentil soup was just okay.

The staff were wonderfully nice.

Best vegan food that we found in the area.

Pros: Numerous vegan options, Unique food, Great service

Cons: Entrees had small portions for the price

Phenomenal!!!!

About 25% of the menu is marked VEGAN and this includes soups, appetizers, entrees, noodles, desserts. The food is absolutely outstanding. I was fortunate to go with two other people and we literally ordered every single vegan item so that we could taste everything. (We had lots of leftovers for the next day!) Everything was very very good but what we LOVED most: Vegetable MoMo (dumplings with an amazing sauce), Gundruk Soup, Flat Herbed Bread that came with a dipping sauce made from avocado and cilantro, Jack Fruit Tarkari.

Pros: Wonderful flavors, Lots of choices, Excellent service

Cons: Menu contains lamb, wild boar, and other animals

SO GOOD!!!!

We stopped here yesterday because it popped up on Happy Cow. I was excited to see that, indeed, everything vegan was labelled. I wish I could have tried everything! There were plenty of vegan options to choose from.

We started with the veggie momos which were almost too awesome. So perfectly spiced and the dipping sauce was deliciously tangy and spicy.

My boyfriend had the tofu tarkari and I had the tofu chillie. Again, both were perfectly spiced and delicious.

I wish we could have tried the other vegan options like the plantain or jackfruit tarkari or the chia pudding.

We did, however, stop for some more momos for the road. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely stop here.

Pros: good food, friendly knowledgeable staff, nice dec

Cons: no Wi-Fi signal in the building? oh well.

Amazing food!

I drive by Base Camp every day to go to school and it's always been on my radar for restaurants to try but I'd never gone there.... Until my mom's birthday. They have about five (if I remember correctly) main dishes of just the takari and more starters and stir fries. I've tried the plantain and the jackfruit takari and both are amazing! The curried sweet potato and puffed rice starter was very good too, but just warning you... it's spicy! They have a desert that's vegan too, chia pudding, which I've never had but heard from a friend that it's very good.

Pros: shows and labels dishes as vegan

Cons: still needs more vegan options

FANTASTIC!!!

This is a MUST visit, especially if you like vegetarian/vegan options. Their food is fresh, the vibration is high, and I'm SO happy with them - I go there all the time! This is seriously one of the best restaurants around, and the staff are just lovely people. The food itself is not only fresh tasting, it has really different and interesting flavors. I love that I can have so many new tastes!! Incidentally, I'm a vegan and LOVE the plaintain &/or mushroom tarkari and the sweet potato chhoila.

Pros: Excellent food quality and freshness, Great service, good staff, Reasonable pricing

Cons: I'd always like to see more vegan options
