Alright but expensive

Thought we'd come here before they close down. It was pretty expensive.

The Saigon cups (vermicelli noodles and salad in a lettuce cup) were good, but could benefit from either mushroom or mince, and the nuoc cham sauce is really fresh and flavourful, but there was barely any this time.

Cauliflower bites were nicely delicately battered, but seems like the cooking oil wasn't hot enough as they were on the soggy/oily side.

The Kfc taco was very nice (as it contained the cauliflower bites) but drenched in sauce.
The satay sweet potato taco was also pretty good for someone who dislikes sweet potato, and satay sauce!

The churros were pretty good, but not enough icing sugar, and the chocolate sauce is thin and too dark.

good for groups

I booked a table for about 20 here for my birthday. We were seated right next to the door which was not the best. I’d recommend Basco for a mixed group of vegans, vegos, and omnis. The menu should please everyone. The staff were friendly. I liked the “Korean” cauliflower taco more than the one with tempura avocado. Hot avocado tastes really weird to me so dunno why I ordered that one. Overall, I wasn’t that hyped on the food but the service was friendly and 2 for $30 espresso martinis is a good end to any evening.

Amazing

This is a treasure was so pleased to find it - we had the banquet for $32 and with it came blue and yellow corn chips with guac and salsa, spicy corn cob, battered eggplant and sweet potato with dips, 2 delicious tacos one with black bean and other goodies the other ‘kfc’ crumbed cauliflower, lettuce cups ( my favourite) - can we say amazing ...

Pros: Delicious !!!! Fresh and beautiful , Amazing deco and vibe, Plenty of options

5 stars - Hot dang!!!

All I can say is thank jeebus for Basco!! They are totally on my list of fav restaurants serving OUTSTANDING FLAVOURSOME vegan! Thank you!!

I don’t normally appreciate fusion but this works. I love the chilli and lime flavours!

The app won’t let me rate them 5 stars because they’re not fully vegan/vegetarian but I would absolutely give them 5 stars.

Delicious vegan food and drinks

Basco has the best vegan tacos in Melbourne! the Vegan KFC taco (Korean Fried Cauliflower) is THE BOMB! You can also get a smokey bean and fried avo taco as well as sweet potato and eggplant wedges with vegan sriracha mayo and miso sauce. There's also vegan lettuce cups. Best of all are the vegan churros!!! so delicious mmmmm...... There's also meat options for those non-woke peeps

They have quite a few vegan staff members who all know what's what about the vegan drinks. Amazing cocktails too-
They do their own tequila infusions, try the Frida's Margarita (spicy watermelon margarita)- Happy hour from 5-7 every day and 2 for 1 cocktails on Fridays during happy hour. Definitely recommend. 10/10

Pros: Delicious food and drinks, Great staff , Awesome music

Cons: Not the cheapest meal in Brunswick
