Lovely food - Edit
Delicious food, we got 3mains and some sweet potato fries and they were all good. My non vegan cheese loving family loved the vegan cheese platter which is a great bonus!

Plant based - Edit
It is set in a really nice little courtyard. Full plantbased menu, they had a few different options which were pretty good. The service was amazing though and the waitress was so nice.

All vegan but not amazing - Edit
My friend and I both got the sexy tofu bowl which was pretty good! Got a matcha latte which was meh and got one of the desserts.. can’t remember what it was, but wasn’t a fan. We sat outside and whenever the wind blew, dust or something from the roof would fly down and the first time it happened some fell into our drinks. I covered mine quickly but some got in my friends. We mentioned it to the server and she acted like it was no big deal, it was a bit strange.

Fully vegan restaurant in split - Edit
Service was great, food was okay but expensive. Not sure we would go back, although I do always want to support vegan eateries. Would recommend the sexy tofu and the sushi.

Absolutely delicious food! Super friendly and helpful staff, lovely secluded terrace, and the best vegan food I've had in Croatia. Will definitely go back when in Split!

Fantastic food, friendly staff -- don't miss the Sexy Tofu - Edit
We shared three starters and two mains and enjoyed them all. A favorite was the sexy tofu. The truffle pasta was also excellent.

High quality vegan food - Edit
We had the oyster mushroom buffalo wings and the marinated tofu. The food was very delicious. Definitely a higher price point, but quite average for prices in Split and for that higher quality and better taste than anything else we had in Split.

Best vegan food we had in Croatia - Edit
We had dinner at Barakokula, we shared the so'parnik as a starter, then had the sexy tofu and truffle pasta. Everything was delicious! I kind of regretted getting the truffle pasta in hindsight as I thought some of the other dishes could have been more special/unique. We wanted to come back a couple of days later but unfortunately it was fully booked, so I'd recommend booking in advance if you want to be sure to have a spot.

A little disappointing:( - Edit
The restaurant had a lot of good reviews, so I was excited to go there. Also, because there aren't many vegan restaurants in Split, I had high hopes. The staff was kind, but the place was a little shabby, and the prices were quite costly. However, I was most disappointed by the meals. We had a starter, three different mains (the "no fish," the oyster mushroom salad, and the truffle pasta), and a dessert.
Read moreThe starter was quite small for the price and sounded way more interesting on the menu than it actually was (like almost all of the dishes, especially the dessert).
The "no fish" was the worst – I do not recommend it. The topping and the potatoes had no flavor at all, and the “fish” part had a weird taste and a purée-like consistency.
The pasta was okay but more like uncooked gnocchi, and the salad a little bland. It felt like a side salad you would get in a "regular" non-veg restaurant, though the oyster mushrooms weren't bad.
I don’t like leaving bad reviews for vegan places, and maybe we just tried the wrong dishes since many other people seemed very pleased with their experience.

Good good, good location - Edit
This place was right around the corner from our accommodation, in a little courtyard area. It is a bit pricey for the atmosphere and the style of service maybe but we both found the food to be tasty. I had a pasta dish and my partner the sushi roll.

Poor advice - Edit
We went today expecting great service and advice. But I asked if the wine is vegan, she said she wasn’t sure and said all wine is vegan. I explained that not all wine is vegan, she then replied saying don’t drink it then!! They should have knowledge if they are advertising a vegan restaurant.

Perfect place for a relaxed dinner vibe. The Dalmatian starter was nice, but we especially enjoyed the sushi main, super crispy and flavorful, and much more filling than it looks!

Good but too expensive - Edit
Both mains and the dessert were good but nothing mind blowing, especially when considering the price (we easily spent €60 for 2 people). It was good to give it a go but I doubt I’d be coming back again
Read moreThe “sexy tofu” with sweet potato was too sweet and definitely needs some acidity to balance it out

Leckeres Fine Dining in Split - Edit

If you're a good cook, pass your way. - Edit
First, prices are kinda high compared to the food we've been served.
Read moreThe houmous in the 'Buffalo" wings is awful and still tastes the can the chickpeas were in.
Wings weren't tempura like as it wasn't made out off panko but bread crumbs. Sauce is nothing to do with what you can expect from a Buffalo sauce. Supposed to be a spicy mayo, tasted more like a cheesy/tahinish mayo.
The burata was definitely only a simple mozza, not creamy at all.
No bread comes with the dish, so you have to add 4 more € to have some.
Truffle pastas were ok even if too thick. Nice truffle taste tho.
The second we finished our entrée the main arrived right away.
Come on guys, we're on holidays, can we take a minute please ?
We wanted to give it another try later this week but we won't.
Really don't deserve the 5 stars rating at all.
Ho and there is a bar in front of the restaurant that plays music at the same time the restaurant does it too...
If you have a car, go to Arsana Tasting House in Omiš, they have a full vegan menu which deserves 5 stars !
Pros: Location
Cons: Prices , Seasonings , Knowledge of cooking

€22 for pasta. Really has gone down hill - Edit
I used to love this restaurant, two years ago (2022) me and my partner came here and it was amazing. Great food and a great price. This week we have visited twice and both times we had slow meals which were either cold or burnt and €22 for pasta is ridiculously pricey! Warm cocktails and no option to split a bill for 7 people

Stunning! - Edit
Wow we loved Barakokula and I highly recommend visiting!
Read moreFirstly it’s in such a cute location that is kind of sheltered meaning it’s a little cooler from just the main streets.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and service was really quick.
To start we shared the SO’ PARNIK which is a traditional starter. It was almost like a dumpling/pastry dough filled with Swiss chard, spring onions and garlic. It was incredible and the filling was so lovely!
Then for mains I got the truffle pasta and if you try anything, you need to try this. The sauce was so rich and creamy and went so perfect with the pasta shape as well as the bits of mushroom. The cheese crumbles on top were also stunning!
My partner got the sexy tofu which was also delicious. It was on top of sweet potato puree which was a really good combo especially as the tofu sauce was a little sweet.
I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Pricey but great food - Edit
Ate here twice in June 2024 and the food is absolutely delicious although quite expensive. The “Sexy Tofu” was the highlight out of what we tried but couldn’t fault any of the food. The Yin Yang sweet potatoes were lovely, as was the mushroom gnocchi. Really nice desserts too. The service was a little iffy sometimes but nothing too awful. The location is nice and tucked away in a covered arcade so although very central it’s still nice and quiet.
