Cute & Unique - Edit
My boyfriend and I went hiking and decided we wanted to have dinner in Charlottesville. We decided to give Bang a try. We honestly didn’t know what to expect. The staff was super friendly and explained that the menu consists of tapas so they recommended getting a couple to share. We got the key lime pie tini and Southern brew. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back! Thank you 😊

Great experience, kinda pricey - Edit
Bang is great for special occasions but often the dishes are small portions and expensive. I’ve had the curry dumplings, drunken noodles, fried artichoke, brussel sprouts, and hummus plate and generally the quality is good but the portions are small. Can be hard to share if you’re with a non vegan group

One of my favorites! - Edit
I come here a few times a year with the family, and everyone loves it. I enjoyed the vegan chickpea spring rolls, general tso's cauliflower, and arugula and pear salad. About 3 plates per person is about the right amount for us to share. The menu has been slightly different each time we go here, and I find that the online menu often is not up to date. You must request the secret vegan menu.

INCREDIBLE food - 10/10 - Edit
Went here on a girls trip to C-ville with two meat eating friends. The food was amazing. King oyster mushroom and kimchi broccoli buns, drunken noodles, and sweet potato gnocchi. It was perfect. The staff were great and the cocktails are incredible as well.

Delicious, rich and heavy - Edit
It's too bad they can't just mark the vegan items on their regular menu, but instead they are one of those restaurants that has a secret vegan menu that you have to know about and ask for! It's a limited menu for the vegans, and it changes every few months, while some items seem to be perennial, like the fried rice balls and chickpea spring rolls (also fried). They do make delicious dipping sauces, but there are a lot of fried and heavy things on their menu. They do usually have some kind of delicious salads, but obviously everything is tapas style so small portions. I have to admit that even though I love Bang, a few times I have had a belly ache after eating there. I don't know if it's because of the amount of oil in the food, or what. If you're in town and you want to get some really great cocktails, be in a busy, young, hip atmosphere, and have a little something to eat, there are options for a vegan. If you're looking for a healthy meal that will make you feel really good afterwards, I would probably not go to Bang.

Delicious vegan options! - Edit
I got the coconut rice, general tsos cauliflower, and grilled asparagus with cashew cream sauce. It was all so delicious. I had to get another bowl of coconut rice because it was so tasty. It was like a dessert. Although I was little too full for it.
Read moreOnly downside is they only allow one check per table (at least that's what the menu says), so be prepared to pay back the friend that buys the meal!

This is a great date spot. My wife and I love it. They have tons of vegan options and it all tastes great. You do have to ask for the vegan menu, they have it separate. They also have a great drink selection. The food it really good, but it can be costly if you have a big party. My wife and I spend around $50-$60 without drinks.

Mediocre food for expansive price - Edit
Let me start by saying that any connection between Asian cuisine and the food served in this restaurant is purely coincidental. This restaurant is more like fusion tapas, which is great, but not Asian.
Read moreThis restaurant has a vegan and vegetarian menu, which is nice. I had the salad trio, the mushroom dumpling and a side of coconut rice. The food was mostly bland and not very flavorful. The salad trio came with a cucumber salad that was nice, but needed some salt, a carrot salad that was way too sweet to the point of being unpleasant, and a Napa cabbage salad that tasted like someone just used watered-down sriracha as dressing. The dumplings had a texture similar to eggroll more than dim sum and were again, bland. Even the chili sauce that accompanied them was bland. The coconut rice was really nice and enjoyable.
The dishes here are tapas style, so they are appetizer size. This food was enough for one person (me), to get full, without any leftovers. For this I paid $15 which I feel is a high price for the quality and amount of food.
Pros: Vegan menu with many choices, The coconut rice is good
Cons: Food is mediocore, Price is high for the amount and quality of food

Tasty asian inspired small plates - Edit
I've been to Bang several times and like that there is a separate vegan menu. You need to ask for the vegan menu. There are about 7 items on the menu, so there has always been plenty for me to choose from & my non-vegan spouse & friends have enjoyed sharing the vegan options as well. I particularly like the trio of veggie salads. The coconut rice is vegan also & very good. The last time I was there, the food was a little spicier than usual & the service uneven, but the food/service have been great all prior visits. It's a fun place & tends to be popular especially on weekends.
