Knowledgeable staff take the dining experience to a new level - Edit
We enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant located in Cleveland’s West side neighborhood of Ohio City. The menu featured typical Thai fare and tofu was readily available as an add-on for so many items.
Read moreBut what made this a stand out vegan experience, was when the employee taking our order said, “Are you both vegans?“ When we indicated yes, she responded that she was going to have the sauce, that was typically made with seafood ingredients, veganized with a mushroom-based recipe. The food was delicious.
There were only two servers for all the tables, and they were mixing the drinks as well. Yet, service was prompt and attentive throughout. What a great experience.
Note: I called ahead and learned that no reservations are available on the weekends. I was told that the place doesn’t get crowded until 6 PM. We arrived Saturday night at 4:45 PM. By 5:15 PM the place was packed.
Note; there is no off street parking. Ohio City is a happening neighborhood. Expect to have the drive around to find a parkin space.
Pros: Delicious Thai food, Knowledgeable staff regarding vegan fare, Tofu
Cons: Gets crowded early on Saturday , Hard to find parking nearby

Blooming Flavors! - Edit
Most items can be made vegan, and the food prep was exquisite with very well-balanced flavors. Nothing unique on the menu - standard list for Thai restaurants - but so well made that we’ll be stopping here often!

Really accommodating - Edit
Banana Blossom is not only delicious, but very accommodating to vegans. If you order something with just vegetables or tofu, they clarify if you want it fully vegan or just vegetarian. I recommend getting the pad thai spicy (they used to have a house spicy version on past menus), and try the prik khing with tofu. It's a sesame-lover's dream.

Papaya salad - Edit
I love that the menu points out that dishes can be made vegan and gluten-free upon request. I already had food made for dinner but was craving some Thai. I went with the papaya salad. It is delicious… even without the usual fish sauce. I also ordered a side of fried tofu and rice to mix with the juices.

Delicious and Accommodating - Edit
The food here was amazing and there were so many options to choose from. I wasn't expecting to be able to have Thai Iced Tea but they had an option with coconut condensed milk! It seemed like almost every item had a vegan alternative with tofu or vegetables. Seriously recommend and if I have time during my stay in Cleveland, I will definitely be going back.

Really good Thai food - Edit
Had the pad Thai, which I think is a great indicator of the caliber of a Thai restaurant, and thought it was really good! Easy to make an item vegan. Large portion and would go back again

Delicious and very vegan friendly - Edit
This is my favorite Thai place in Cleveland. If I was allowed to give it 5 stars I would (Happy Cow only allows 5 stars for fully veg businesses which I totally respect). The staff is always friendly and sweet. They are happy to make things vegan unlike many Thai restaurants that pre-make many sauces and won't veganize them. My favorite dishes are the Vegan Drunken Noodles and the Spicy String Beans with Tofu. SO GOOD!

Fabulous Thai Food - Edit
Though nondescript on the outside, it boasts a warm interior with colorful food and authentic flavors. Each curry can be ordered vegan, and you can choose your own level of spice. The staff is vegan friendly and willing to make dishes (such as the garden rolls) vegan upon request.

Cons: Small space that fills up quickly, vegan options not clearly marked
