Go All Vegan Please! - Edit
Wish more of the ice cream sandwich options were without chocolate - there are more vegan cookie options but all the vegan ice cream sandwiches are with chocolate chip cookies (and I can’t have chocolate due to autoimmune issue). Some locations have more limited vegan options than the Georgetown location. The vegan croissant if available is a bit dry but delicious. Some of the vegan pies are their best vegan options.

Lots of vegan options but could be better - Edit
I appreciate the numerous options for vegans but the oat milk ice cream was not in stock at all. The cupcake was good (got a vegan red velvet) but it was cold coming straight from their fridge. The icing was incredibly sweet. My daughter had a chocolate chip cookie which again was very sweet. I wouldn’t seek this place out again but would go just to have options. Boo on the upcharge for plant based milks for the drinks. ☹️

Best vegan sweets in the area - Edit
Bakeshop can do no wrong. I dream about their vegan chocolate chip pumpkin bread - it is so moist and sooo good. That's my go-to thing to get, but I've also enjoyed their cookies and cupcakes when I've tried them!

Decadent sweets - Edit
There are so many vegan options in this lovely bakery! It was difficult to choose one, even two, so I ended up trying three different sweets. They were all really amazing, I was so impressed by the richness of flavors and textures. Everything very sugary, I loved it! My favorite was the Gingersnap Cream Pie, sooo good! I'm still not over the delicious creamy filling, it was such a treat! I would definitely recommend a visit to this place, I can't wait to go back and try other sweets!

Soy based vegan - Edit
This is a regular bake shop with some delicious vegan cookies (especially the lemon, not so much the oatmeal peach). But if you’re avoiding soy, they use soy milk and soy butter in their cookies.

Scrumptious vegan cupcakes! I had been hearing great things about the vegan options at Bakeshop, and someone gave us some for my husband’s birthday. They were fabulous!

Vegan pumpkin loaf! - Edit
My boyfriend are I are regulars here. He’s not a vegan but has an affinity for their baked goods, especially the vegan pumpkin chocolate chip loaf. I’ve tried nearly every vegan option Bakeshop offers and this item is hands down the best. It’s so moist and flavorful. Can’t get enough! The staff are also friendly. Highly recommend.

I ordered a vegan pumpkin cake for my dad’s birthday and it did not disappoint. It may have been one of the best cakes I’ve ever had.

Four words: ice cream cookie sandwiches! - Edit
LOVE the ice cream cookie sandwiches. They just started doing a vegan one with double chocolate chip cookies as well as the one with regular CC cookies! Oreos in a blanket are to die for. Vegan cupcakes, oatmeal cream pies, blondies, etc. They can make vegan cakes (all cakes are preorder I believe) too.

Delicious Vegan Treats - Edit
I had the vegan Red Velvet cupcake and it was delicious. It was very moist and I liked how the size wasn't excessive. They also had a few other vegan treats like an oatmeal crime pie and chocolate chip cookies.
Read moreThe vegan cupcakes were not on display in the front, so just ask when you get there. While their site advertised several flavored, they only had the red velvet in that day. It may be worth calling ahead of time to see what they have in.
There is a parking garage nearby right by the Trader Joe's.
Pros: Has vegan cupcakes, Prices are reasonable
Cons: Vegan options not on display, Had only one vegan flavor

Oh yes, vegan goodies- just ask - Edit
It was interesting that there are many items listed as vegan, but not one of them in the display is vegan. They are all hidden in the back. Though they are happy to get them for you, how does one know what to order if one cannot see them? Vegans often have to make leaps of faith, but it would be great to see all the choices before buying.
Read moreNice deal though for cupcakes buy 5 and get 1 free. The cupcakes are kind of small, and I am not sure if it's just me, or the box they were in. They have traditional cupcake liners, so they are the ones you'd make at home in terms of size.
Anyhow, the vegan cookies are good, standard fare with items like salted apricot oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chip, ginger snap and oatmeal - a few choices can have creme filling. The prices for these are good, so, don't hesitate!
The cupcakes are interestingly different - strawberry shortcake, chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, pumpkin. I say different because the cake portion is just more moist for some than others. I only tried two, not wanting plain chocolate or vanilla, and I was quite pleased. The flavor of the frosting for the strawberry shortcake is what made the cupcake so tasty! The flavor of the red velvet cupcake cake portion made that very tasty, but it was more crumbly/ drier than the strawberry shortcake's vanilla cake base. I liked both of the frostings' textures- airy and not greasy or heavy. Prices were reasonable for the area.
Well done for a non-vegan shop to have such a great variety. Thanks! Will return for sure! Note: parking can be a pain if you drive. Hours are longer than many bakeries, so go after dinner or before, but not too late.
Pros: Vegan cupcakes, Vegan cookies, Vegan creme-filled cookies
Cons: No vegan items displayed, Small cupcakes

Awesome small business w./ delicious vegan options - Edit
I came by Bakeshop on Thanksgiving weekend to pick up a vegan cupcake but discovered that the shop was closed. Justin, the owner, was inside and saw us come to the door. He came out and told us to wait and ran back inside to bring us cookies he had in the back. I told him we were vegan (awkwardly) and he went back inside to pull out a vegan chipwich to give us instead as a "thank you" for coming by. It was a really nice gesture and a good reminder why shopping at small businesses is so important. I highly recommend Bakeshop for anyone looking for a sweet treat in the DC area (worth the metro ride).
