I wanted to love this place so much - Edit
I wish I could say that I loved it here, because the fact that there's a vegan spot here is amazing! But overall, it was a letdown. I ordered a vegan sausage roll, which was so chewy, like it had been microwaved. Not very flavourful. Came with a handful of quinoa chips from a packet. Partner had the tofu scramble on toast which was unusually smoky, didn't enjoy the flavours. The homemade lemonade was a nice touch, very tart though! We both had a slice of baked cheesecake which was quite nice, but my partner was underwhelmed by.

Cute cafe - Edit
Nice friendly cafe in a small art gallery, 4 main menu options and 2 desert options. Hot chocolate with marshmallows was good!

Terrific food and very frienfly - Edit
We went into Kirkwall centre expecting the cafe to be closed: Happy Cow not reliable about opening times of this place. If you wish to visit check Facebook for accurate hours. So far we have found this to be the only reliable vegan food (apart from Indian) in Kirkwall and it's very very good!

Excellent - Edit
Went there twice during my Orkney stay. Had a lentil soup, chocolate / cherry cake and the Biscoff cupcake and hot chocolate with marshmallows. All very tasty. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Nice combination of art and good food!

Yummy crêpes - Edit
The crêpes were delicious! That cheese sauce and ham!
Read moreThe atmosphere could have been a bit cosier though. And the menu should include all ingredients (like banana on the chocolate crêpe).

Cafe with potential - Edit
I enjoyed eating the crepes at Badly Drawn Cat Cafe. The menu though did not clearly communicate what we would get: the sweet crepes are served cold, and the chocolate spread one had bananas even though not specified.

Excellent addition to Albert Street neighborhood - Edit
We tried the soup and the chocolate banana crepes. Both lovely although the soup could have used a bit more slicing up. Service was quick and super friendly. They will be closed the week of October 10, 2022 but check them out when you can! Delightful atmosphere.
