Fantastic vibe and very good dining experience - Edit
The ‘Mole Enchiladas’ were a highlight, and I was a huge fan of the eggplant tacos. Service was also lovely and very attentive. Also love the range of Kombuchas on the menu, unique flavours I hadn’t tried before e.g earl grey and oolong

Awesome Hombres! - Edit
Love the vibe here!
Read moreSupremely tasty, colourful n unique Mexican food. The menu is so full of amazing choices, we always turn into kids in a lolly shop and way over order! The Bad Hombres cauliflower sharing plate is not to be missed! Goes down really well with a classic Margarita.
They've made some changes to the menu over the time we been coming here, which keeps it intersting and exciting.
If you feel like Mexican, Bad Hombres is a must.
Pros: Delicious food. Good service

This was my first stop on a long weekend in Sydney to catch up with friends in which food was the co-star! One of my companions eats vegetarian and one eats omni. We ate at fully vegan restaurants at every meal and everyone was totally satisfied. Bad Hombres was a great start!
Read moreWe were all hungry when we arrived so we ordered tacos and cocktails as we mulled over our mains. The potato taco was not as tasty as I’d hoped but the eggplant with pineapple salsa was dreamy. We couldn’t go past the cauliflower as a main, and chose the veggie bowl with creamy black beans and roasted heirloom carrots with mole to go with it. Everything was super rich and tasty but quite heavy. We finished feeling stuffed and satisfied. But as it was a chilly winter evening, we had to try the rice pudding too. Not the most adventurous choice for desert but it really hit the spot.
The service was lovely and the atmosphere was bustling and friendly on a Friday night. I definitely suggest going with a group and sharing a selection of dishes as we did. We also spent a bomb on food over the weekend, so be prepared for that. I wouldn’t dine there solo or on a budget but would definitely go back for a celebratory meal.

Decent-ish - Edit
There seemed to be more emphasis on the presentation of the dishes than on the preparation and flavour of the food itself. Pretty disappointing. Guac was tart and tortillas were cold and stuck together. Lots of fried and oily foods. Menu would benefit from a more humble and simple approach to food.

Excellent mexican food - Edit
Quality mexican food.
Read moreI was with a group pf 8 people and we got lots of food to share. Everything was excellent and very tasty.
I particularly enjoyed the “Crocante” Eggplant.
Great service.
Very noisy when busy.
Wine was very pricey, but good.
The 'big plates' weren't that big.
Not a restaurant you would go to regularly, because of the price, but somewhere to go when you want excellent vegan food and alcohol, to treat yourself!
if you are with a group of people, book earlier so you can be there with less people and you can hear each other talk.
Pros: Food was fantastic, Service was great
Cons: Noisy when busy, Pricey buy quality isn't cheap

Bad Hombres is bad ass - Edit
Just went to this place and it was even better than expected. As a Californian who has spent a lot of time in Mexico, this place is legit. The food was fantastic and because I was flying solo and was at the bar up against the kitchen, the service was like eating at a family dinner. Everyone, including the owner Jose, were so friendly and spent tons of time telling me about the history of the restaurant. The creme brule was one of the night's highlights, for sure.

Pros: Authentic, Tasty, Friendly service
Cons: Might need a reservation

All Vegan Mexican Eatery - Bad Hombres Review - Edit
I love Mexican but the problem is CHEESE. So I was delighted to find Bad Hombres - an all-vegan Mexican food restaurant in Sydney.I chose this restaurant to come to for a business meeting with a non-vegan person. I studied the menu before going there, as I always do - it is a small menu but everything sounds unique. Not your usual taco, burrito, quesadilla-filled menu. I also wanted to know what the staff's recommendations were, which was roasted Cauliflower. So after settling in, we ordered two entrees, two mains and one side dish…. suddenly, it was a question of "can we eat this all?" The portions of each dish are extremely generous and we ordered dishes with lots of filling carbs including corn chips, corn tortillas, rice, sweet potato, potato. Many of our dishes included filling, protein-rich beans and good fats from avocados and housemade cashew cheeses (one of my highlights!). Somehow, it all tasted more unhealthy than it really was - certainly more healthy than your usual Mexican joint! My advice for this restaurant is not to order too many dishes even though you are excited (like I was), although you can always take leftovers home!

nice vibe for some modern mexican - Edit
we enjoyed our meal- the eggplant tacos were amazing!!! our drinks were good and service was quick and friendly. Overall we would really recommend this place but maybe avoid the sharing plate on the top of the list as we found it very salty and onion heavy.

Fresh and Fantastic - Edit
Although the serving sides were quite small comparatively to their pricing, I would 100% say it was worth it!!!
Read moreI nibbled on a selection of their shared plates, mains and entrees and say they were all fantastic! Super fresh ingredients and the flavours were both simple and also exotic.
I even went with a non-vegan, fussy eater who was extremely overwhelmed by the menu (due to a lack of non-vegan options such as cheese and chicken as well as the fact that they didn't typically eat many veggies). She tried the Chilli non Carne and even said "Wow, you really don't need meat!" and she was genuinely surprised by how much she enjoyed it!
The one which stood out the most was the eggplant tacos! The pairing with the pineapple was surprisingly different and unique. Honestly tasted like dessert to me.
Speaking of dessert... Need to come back and try theirs...

We dropped in for a quick ore-theatre dinner and it is hard to pick a favourite dish! We loved the charred corn, potato tacos and the cauliflower share plate, but everything was delicious. Great selection of vegan wines and the staff are friendly and efficient. Booking is recommended on weekends as we did see people getting turned away

Bad service - Edit
There were many empty tables with no reserved signed but I was told to sit in the bar stool because I went alone. This type of customer care is unacceptable in Sydney. Too bad a bug is preventing me from giving 1 star.

Buzzy vibe and totally full on a Wednesday night with friendly service and a small bar to have a drink if you're waiting for your table (reservations recommended). Lots of delicious Mexican food on offer with great presentation, texture, variety and flavour. There's even a vegan creme brulee on offer. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is I found some of the food overly salty.
