Serves meat, vegan options available. Typical Italian street food in a cozy space. Please let happycow know what the vegan options are! Reported closed Oct 2019.
There is really only one vegan option, a seitan kebab. I didn't love it - there was little seitan, lots of spinach and a too-sweet sauce. Fries were very good though.
Babek is a small fast food take away, with around 15 seats. Very nice atmosphere and a few vegan options. The ingredients are carefully chosen and the food is great! I'll definitely go back!
Babek is a small cute kebab/fast food shop. They offer a few vegan options, either clearly marked or offered as alternatives by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We tried the vegan kebab - it was fine, if you like faux-meat foods and are a kebab fan you'd probably love it, it's everything a faux-meat vegan kebab should be!
Other than that we had a salad which was disappointing - just lettuce/mixed greens, olive oil and balsamic.
The other vegan dishes on offer might also be decent - a wrap with chickpea pancakes (sounded interesting to me and would've been keen to try) and another salad (with beetroot and sliced peach - vegan without cheese - didn't sound like something for us that day).
Overall Babek was okay, thankfully for a kebab shop there are no giant rotating meat obelisks dripping fat to put you off your food. We wouldn't rush back to there to eat, among other things faux-meat is not really my thing, but if you like that sort of stuff I think you'd enjoy it quite a bit.
Lovely spot if you're looking for some street food - Edit
Discovered by chance, it was a nice discovery.
The place opened in March and is owned by some guys from Sicily.
It offers a vegan version of Kebab, called Babek (amazing) and a classic from Sicily called pane e panelle, a sandwich filled with chickpeas based pancakes.
The guys were very friendly and talkative, explained us how they opened the place, the suppliers they used and so on.
A plus for me is the fact that most furniture is made of reused parts, giving a very pleasant atmosphere, and that dishes and forks are compostable.
A good pick in the very center of Milan!

A nice find - Edit
Had a vegetarian and a vegan option called out clearly on the menu. Made to order. Both were very tasty.
