Very special experience - Edit
Surrounded by the Geothermal springs, steam rising from the ground in the distance this former bathhouse in Furnas makes a quaint yet dramatic setting for a special taste of local produce. They serve only one group at a time, so the service is very personalized. The tea experience is unique (involving some very interesting effects of using the spring water straight from the ground).
Read moreAs tasting menus and special experiences go compared to US prices, it was not expensive. Compared to a regular restaurant in the Azores it was pricey. Worth it to us for the experience, education, and care given to the meal, as well as one of the few all-vegan meals on the island. You will absolutely need to arrange this in advance, probably as soon as you buy your plane tickets.
Pros: Beautiful setting, Friendly hosts, Fresh local produce
