It was our first restaurant in Athenes and we weren’t disappointed at all. My husband (a non-vegan/meat eater) and I loved the food which was very tasty and delicious, good plates and great staff... we’ll go again if we have this chance ! We recommend at 100% ... that raw avocado chocolate tart : AMAZING for chocolate lovers

Really very good - Edit
We go here every time we visit Athens. The location is central, service very friendly and quick, atmosphere comfy and casual and it’s good for kids too. There’s also a health store next door so it’s perfect to stock up there on vegan snacks and holiday essentials while traveling. The first time we visited (last year) I must admit I was a little disappointed as i saw that the menu was mainly vegetarian (not vegan) which lots of cheese everywhere, but recently I either now know what to order or they put more vegan options on the menu. The food is wholesome and delicious. The tofu starter is amazing and the avocado spinach salad is great. The curry needs a little more flavor but is good and the kids loved it. The mung bean soup was excellent. My kids ear really well every time we come. Thank you and keep up the good work!

really good food. just know what to order - Edit
i ordered the tofu appetizer, macro plate, and bengal tea. all delicious and big portion sizes. i would not recommend the apple pie “tree hugger.” personally i didn’t like it. the upstairs seating is very cozy and the staff is great. most food was organic as well and some was locally sourced.

Great service but food not that great - Edit
The waiter was just amazing, all the staff were super accommodating, they even offered a replacement dish when I didn't like the first one and didn't charge for it. Unfortunately the second one was only marginally better, and my partner didn't really love his pasta dish either. The apple pie for dessert was delicious however, so maybe we just made poor choices from the extensive menu?

Amazing! - Edit
So many options, friendly service and the food was absolutely wonderful! It was so nice to find somewhere that had not only the variety of food to choose from but also the belief system of not harming animals to feed people. We ordered the avocado hummus, penne avocado (not vegan) and the zen tempeh. My daughter said the penne avocado was super creamy and had a lot of flavor. The zen tempeh has just the right amount of spice and the texture of the tempeh was perfect. As for the avocado hummus, you have got to try this! I cannot rave enough about this place. If I lived here I would eat her often 😊

Delicious food and extensive menu - Edit
Avocado offers so many interesting vegan dishes that it was hard to pick. In the end we had the Hummus Avocado and a Persian dish called Rumi’s Dream. I loved both of them! Besides serving excellent food, they make you feel at home with a lovely atmosphere and a very friendly staff. I’ll come back! :-)

Avocado Gets an A+ - Edit
My family and I ate here on our last night in Athens. Avocado definitely lives up to its rave reviews. It has phenomenal food, is very kid-friendly and the wait staff is very attentive. Like many veg restaurants, this one was born from a yoga studio. There is an avocado theme to many signature dishes - we ordered the avocado hummus and smoothie and enjoyed both. Standouts also include the Eat, Pray, Love; Vegan Jasmine; & Avocado’s Buger. The sheep’s milk ice cream is a must for dessert. Though a vegetarian restaurant, most dishes can be made vegan if requested. Portion sizes are big, so bring one or a few loved ones with whom to share.

The best - Edit
This has been my favourite restaurant on our visit to Athens. We sat upstairs on floor cushions at a low table, chilled out music playing and delicious food. My husband and I both had the poke bowl (Vegan and gluten free), My son had a pizza and my daughter had a stir fry. There are normal tables and chairs downstairs and outside for those that don't want floor cushions.

We visited Avocado twice during our short stay in Athens. The staff is very friendly, and the food was good. The menu is extensive with many options and ingredient transparency is good. We had the macro bowl, the poke bowl, the black bean burrito and the koala panini, and we would eat all again.

We really enjoyed our meal at Avocado. I had the Poke Bowl and it felt so good to have some nutritious food after a while of trying to make meals out of salads and Meze plates. The only downside is that it is quite expensive.

Although a busy place and buzzing with people, we were lucky to get a small table outside. A restaurant with a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options, frequented mostly by and locals alike, the menu seemed to cater to an international palate.

Perfect food spot for the healthy and/or vega/ vegan person. Centrally located, with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, Avocado offers a great menu with a lot of options! It was difficult to choose..everything I tasted was delicious. Normally I don’t like Acai, but the Acai smoothie with hemp and flax seeds was very tasteful. I wish so many restaurants would have the spirit of Avocado 👌

Pretty Good - Edit
This was the first place I went to in Athens, because at the time it was one of the only vegan-friendly places available. I've been back several times, partly because it's easy to get to, and the food is good.
Read moreThe more times I go, the less impressed I am, however. The atmosphere is nice; pretty typical veg restaurant with light wood tables, cheery green walls, and a lot of bright space. We went this past summer again, but on one of the super-hot days, and ended up seated upstairs. I had never been up there before. We had to sit on cushions on the floor, and the server wasn't very attentive. After our meal - and I don't even recall what I got - we were not asked about dessert; but it's probably just as well, because the previous couple of times there, the vegan dessert options were very limited. Admittedly, it was not our best day on vacation, but sometimes a person or place can make or break a mood. In this case, Avocado did nothing to make our day much brighter.
Because I have been there quite a few times before, I want to add that this isn't our normal experience. The servers we've had have been really personable and friendly (though not vegan, sadly), and the place has been accommodating even during a bit of a rush. I don't know if they take reservations, but we have never made any.
By far the macro plate is the absolute best - and the pumpkin soup! I don't usually care for pumpkin-this and pumpkin-that, but their soup was outstanding. The macro plate will make you feel healthy almost right away if you've been bingeing on junk food recently. The tofu is soooo delicious; I think they should add extra tofu to the macro plate. But that's just me. Some may prefer the sweet potatoes or rice. In any case, it is incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced.
I would say the two downsides of Avocado are that it's not vegan, and that the vegan desserts are few. I think there is an apple pie, which I didn't have because my wife's mother had made us one; and some raw chocolate thing which, to be honest, was the worst vegan dessert I have ever had. It was bitter and dense, the coconut cream was not sweet, and I couldn't eat it. So I wouldn't recommend Avocado for dessert, but I most definitely would recommend their macro plate. It is scrumptious.
Pros: Conveniently located to tourists, cheery decor, Very reasonably priced, Delicious vegan entrees & appetizers
Cons: Not all vegan, They believe in "happy sheep" milk, Raw vegan dessert is bad
