Vegan upon request!

I dined at Aux Pieds sous la Table a few nights ago when visiting Toulouse. The restaurant offers a set menu using seasonal organic ingredients. You need to book and let them know that you are vegan and ask for the Chef to prepare a vegan menu. I had the 3 course vegan menu and also a vegan hors d’oeuvre, however you do not need to order all 3 courses. Everything was delicately flavored and so delicious. The restaurant feels sophisticated and relaxed all at once.

Pros: Fresh seasonal ingredients , Organic , Balanced sized portions

Cons: You must book , You must request a vegan menu.

Quite expensive, not much food

They had a Gaspatcho style starter (cold soup) and a dry lentil dish for the mains. They swapped out the cheese for pine nuts to make the main dish vegan.

They are quite typical of fine dining, so quite small portions. The dish was also quite “European” so lacking in spice and punchy flavours. That’s not to my taste, but your experience may vary if you appreciate that style.

Great cuisine, affordable prices

High level French cuisine, staff knowledgeable about veganism and prepared to adapt their dishes, but within certain restrictions (the chef has “conceptual” principles and limits, so to speak). I had a main dish with spelt cream, wild garlic sorbet and different types of vegetables. It was a explosion of rich tastes, really unbelievable.

Pros: Very friendly staff, Open to vegan adaptations of dishes, Unbelievably tasteful food, fair prices

Cons: Limited possibility of adapting dishes, Vegan possibilities not on the menu

Fine cuisine with vegan options

This restaurant offers a refined and modern cuisine with each day a completely vegetarian menu among the three proposed menus. The restaurant adapts without any problem the vegetarian menu into a vegan menu but it is better to call at least the day before. They manage however to adapt directly if you have not booked. The proposed dishes are always very sophisticated, generous and excellent. I have never regretted the experience. The staff is knowledgeable about veganism and is very professional. The prices are reasonable for this quality of meal, knowing that the menus are seasonal and change regularly. I recommend it!

Cons: vegan options not on menu by default
