Amazing fine dining

I was looking for a fine dining experience in NOLA, and was disappointed to not really have many options. Heard through the grapevine that August offered a 5-course vegan tasting menu on request and called to confirm - they do! It seems that they do it regularly enough that they don't require advanced notice. You can show up night-of and let them know you're vegan and they will tell you what's on offer. The host and wait staff were incredibly knowledgeable - our server mentioned that they had a 5-course vegan tasting menu on-menu pre-pandemic, but have not added it back since limiting their menu during the pandemic.

The service was FANTASTIC and attentive, the 5 courses were all DELICIOUS and clearly well thought-out. On top of the 5 courses, they offered an amuse bouche, some small plates, and a palate cleanser before the "cheese" and dessert courses. We were there for 3.5 hours, so buckle up if you plan on getting the tasting menu as opposed to a single entree. It was quite expensive - we got the tasting menu w/ wine pairings, which was (I believe) $250 per person. The sommelier was also very knowledgeable and open to checking which wines were vegan. Someone else in my party got the non-vegan tasting menu, and the vegan tasting menu was matched up very well theme-wise to what she got, enough so that our wine pairings were often the same. Our party recommended to August that they put the vegan menu back on their actual menu since it was so good and clearly they have the ability to make it.

Pros: Food was amazing, Service and staff were amazing

Cons: They should list vegan options on-menu, It is pricey if that's not what you're looking for
