Friendly efficient service! Having a separate vegan menu! Amazing options!
Read moreOnly downside maybe is the small size. I ate starter, main and dessert. But I eat a lot so you need to order maybe one by one dish and see for yourself

An entire separate vegan menu!
Read moreWe weren't sure what we'd find in Rotorua for vegan food but were blown away by Atticus Finch. We ordered the roast green veges, fried cauliflower, and portobello hazelnut dishes, and every one was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, great atmosphere, not too loud, and reasonably priced.
We also ordered some house made non-alcoholic cocktails that were amazing. We can't recommend this place enough for vegans. A real highlight of our trip.
Pros: An entire separate vegan menu!

Great options on general menu - Edit
Went there for dinner. Vegan options are clearly labelled. About 3 on the small size share plates and 2 on the big size share plates. A bit more expensive than other places but food clearly more refined paid about 38$ for my meal! Staff super friendly. Strongly recommand.

Enjoyable lunch here.... - Edit
We enjoyed our lunch here. The service was great, the food was very good and the prices were moderate.
Read moreIt's not really obvious that they have a dedicated vegan menu but even the regular menu here is clearly marked for the vegan options. There seemed to be a couple more options on the vegan menu which is small but apparently it changes seasonally.
Good portion sizes with fresh, tasty ingredients. Well presented meals with friendly service. Recommended.

Exceptionally good vegan options - Edit
The cooks here know their way around the kitchen! And, unlike many non-veg restaurants where vegan options are an afterthought, here the items in their special vegan menu are creative and uncommonly delicious.

Good food and lovely staff - Edit
The food was extremely tasty and beautifully presented, we had the roast veggies, beetroot patties, and Portobello mushrooms. We found 2 large and 1 small plate enough between 2, especially as then we could have dessert! The staff were great.

Separate Vegan Menu - Edit
We dined at Atticus Finch last night. Was pleased to see they have a separate vegan menu highlighting the vegan options on the menu (rather than having to ask about each vegetarian option possibly being made vegan). It's a smaller menu but decent considering many restaurants in Rotorua only have one or two vegan options.
Read moreThe food is tapas style. Plates are served as they're made so you just take it as it comes.
We got the fried cauliflower, brocolli lentil salad, roasted greens and beetroot black bean patties. Hubby also got the risotto balls (he is vegetarian) but said they were a bit disapointing.
The small plate options were all good. My fave was the roasted greens. I was turned off by the patties after a mouthful of the 'pickled carrot' which to me just tasted like orange.
Not a mind blowing experience but a decent feed and nothing much to complain about.
Pros: Seperate vegan menu., Two vegan dessert options. , Friendly staff (enthusiastic about the vegan menu)

A small but delicious separate vegan menu. I had the beetroot and black bean patties with carrot hummus. It was so good. And the chocolate mousse tort was ridiculously good! Would definitely come again.

5 Star Plant-Based Menu - Edit
We ate here twice, for lunch and dinner, and ate every vegan option on the menu. Recommend making reservations for dinner. The food was as creative and delicious as any high-end plant-based meal we’ve had at exclusively vegan restaurants in the US. Happy Cow only allows 4 stars because the restaurant is not 100% vegan but the restaurant deserves 5 stars for its vegan menu.

Great food, has a vegan menu - Edit
Our server was not very nice and didn't seem to want to answer questions or interact with us lol. But we were having too good of a time to care much.
Read moreThat was the only downside to an otherwise really wonderful meal. They have a vegan menu (pictured below) that has fun and delicious options that aren't just "you can pay for this whole bowl but we'll leave off the top three expensive ingredients that actually make this a meal".
We had a delicious jackfruit nachos dish and a roasted cauliflower dish. They both were truly delicious and unique.
Pros: Specific vegan menu with unique dishes

Good vegan options! - Edit
Was happy to try this place for lunch today. Loved that they have a separate vegan menu with lots of variety. Many things sounded appealing. The food we ordered was all very tasty and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about plant-based foods. Good price for what we got. It would be nice if they offered the vegan menu (or even indicated that one exists!) without customers needing to specifically request it though.

Great place to lunch! - Edit
On a day trip to Rotorua our vegan family of 3 went to have lunch at Atticus Finch and it was excellent. They have a separate vegan menu and there was that much choice that we all went for different dishes. My son had the child jackfruit tacos, I had the mushroom, tofu and chilli bao and my husband had the a beetroot hummus with homemade crackers. Only my husband was a little bit disappointed that the hummus was cold. Great place for vegans!

Elegant Vegan Options - Edit
This is an extremely popular restaurant and for good reason, the food is imaginative, elegantly presented, and delicious. Reservations recommended. Although they were incredibly busy when we arrived a few minutes ahead of our reservation time, they were very pleasant and seated us at the small bar while we waited for a table to open up, only about five minutes. The waiter brought us a separate menu listing all of their vegan options. I have an extra restriction of being sensitive to onions and garlic so the waiter suggested we narrow down our choices and he then checked with the chef to steer us away from things like sauces that couldn't be altered. Another attribute of this restaurant is that they serve meals tapas-style where you order several dishes and then share them family-style. As it turned out, nearly everything we chose as possibilities either didn't need to be, or could be, altered. It's rare to find a restaurant where the food flavorings are so imaginatively created that they don't rely on onions and garlic in everything. That makes them a five star vegan choice in my mind but Happy Cow only allows four stars max for restaurants that are not fully vegan.
