A cosy place with a delicious vegan Lithuanian food. I am sure that even non-vegan friends would like it. Loved their homemade kombucha, which was much cheaper than from the bottles. Friendly staff who kindly answers your questions. They also have some teas and supplements for purchase.

Cozy homey place serving traditional food

The place is located conveniently along the Laisves aleja - can't miss it! It serves a variety of traditional Lithuanian meals, vegan versions, thus for everyone interested in Lithuanian cuisine this place could be of interest. Big portions for affordable prices. Recommending!

Pros: lovely atmosphere, affordable, veganized traditional lithuanian food

Cons: There were no ceppelins at the time of our visit

Traditional Lithuanian food goes vegetarian

Little place for a quick bite or lunch. Almost everything is vegan (even though they claim that all is vegan, but they add gelatin to their desserts (not agar) and use coffee creamer with cow's milk in it even though it is soy based – so be aware of that. I know that particular brand that they are using and it is not vegan).

Main courses are delicious but with a modern twist. For example, traditional dish "Cepelinai" is served with salads. It is delicious, but traditionally you would never eat that with salad on the side.
I would recommend "Žemaičių blynai“, "Koldūnai" or "Šaltibarščiai" – those are the most iconic traditional dishes. Also I highly recommend their buns and pies. They are freshly made and really delicious. They have a vide variety, my favorite are with cabbages (sour) and with apples (sweet).

Also it is worth mentioning that the interior is absolutely adorable! It is authentic farmacy (even with some equipment) turned into dinner. The oldest farmacy in town actually is still running next door.

On the flip side, staff is a little bit older, hence do not speak English. But they do have English menu.
Do not plan to spend a lot of time there – just come in, eat and go. It is a busy place (especially during lunch time) and people come and go really quickly.

Do not recommend coffee (they do not have regular coffee or even espresso machine, they serve only chicory which they call "coffee") or any warm drink. They all are strange to my taste and pricey.

Pros: Traditional Lithuanian dishes, Charming interior (old farmacy turned into dinner), You will get your food FAST

Cons: Staff does't know what VEGAN means, Creamer is soy based but with cow's milk, Vegetarian, vegan options didn't clearly marked

Tasty!

Must go! The people there don’t speak much English but they have a roughly translated menu, which is really all you need. The beetroot soup was delicious!

Pros: Veganized Lithuanian dishes , Fair prices

Homemade vegan comfort food

I had a flying visit to Kaunas, was literally just in town for 4 hours for a show so we ordered some take out from Arbatine for the band and it’s was very good and flavorful. The potato pancakes were delicious!!

Pros: Fully vegan, Traditional 🇱🇹 dishes made vegan

Best Restaurant in Lithuania

I am a Lithuanian living abroad and one of the main things that has kept me from going vegan is the thought that I might lose my culture and my heritage because food and meat are such a big part of Lithuanian cuisine so I am so happy to have discovered this restaurant that makes the foods that I love from my childhood and I can actually eat them I’m so happy this place exists it was my favorite place I ate the last time I was in Lithuania I will definitely be coming back.

Cosy

It's cool to have a fully vegan place offering traditional cuisine.
It's cosy and staff is friendly. Menu is partially available in English.
Prices were okay though I found the portion to be too small for me.

Nice place

Arbatine has a big selection of vegan dishes including some (probably) typical Lithuanian recipes which is interesting to vegan travelers who want to try local cuisine in Kaunas. Me and a friend tried a few dishes each and all of them were good but some were a bit bland. Overall our experience there was good but nothing overwhelming or special.

Pros: Big selection

Cons: Small portion sizes, The English menu doesn't include everything

The food is very delicious, the staff is really friendly and it’s very cheap.
But the staff don’t speak really good English and the gave me the menu in Lithuanian but because everything is vegan, I chose something and it was delicious.

Grandmam’s cookings

Small all-vegan restaurant situated at the main walking street. Food is good ground-to-earth style food that reminds me more of grandmam’s cookings than restaurant food. Nevertheless nice to taste some authentic Lithuanian flavors.

Traditional Lithuanian recipes, veganised

I was a bit disappointed here, the portions are small and taste like something you'd get at a university cafeteria, while not being all that cheap for Lithuanian standards. That being said, it is a nice location to sit outside and the waitress was very nice.

Eat and leave :)

Food is great and all vegan!
But... is not the place where you want to stay a longer. Looks like you stuck in the mid of 80’s :)))

Pros: Good location , Great food , Good value

Cons: Old fashion interior , A bit annoying stuff

Cute spot

Interesting menu options, seems like a local food, which is good. The taste was very "homemade", a bit more flavor and bigger portions were missing.

Pros: Friendly staff, Small and cozy

Cons: A bit expensive , Taste was ok

Best Vegan in town period!

All vegan, all home made, lots of Lithuanian dishes reinvented, excellent service, people should just come eat here, authentic, like all restaurants should be.

Original and memorable.

Pros: All vegan, fair priced. Such nourishing food.
