Exactly what being vegan is all about - Edit
This small cafe is situated within the animal shelter. It’s totally vegan & just gets on with it-doesn’t shout about it. The menu is basic but done very well at a good price with decent portions. We had jacket potato’s with cheese & salad(special), an all day breakfast:sausages, bacon, scrambled tofu, beans, toast etc, and a cheese and bacon toasted sandwich. Also had biscoff cake and syrup sponge to take away. They also have a small selection of vegan chocolate: Jeavons & Mummy Megz

Lovely vegan lunch - Edit
We took my dad for Father’s Day trip out. It is near Irchester Country Park, so we thought we would have a bite to eat beforehand and were delighted to discover this fully vegan gem. The menu isn’t extensive but it is tasty and complete vegan. Dad and I had burger and chips and my husband had vegan lasagne. To take home, we had the biggest slices of Victoria Sponge which were delicious. An added bonus is that you can walk round and see the animals - lambs, rabbits, chickens, cats, dogs and a giant tortoise, amongst others. I’d definitely recommend this for its vegan credentials and if you are looking for straightforward, tasty food.

Basic food, good charity - Edit
It’s a little tricky to rate this one as it’s both a sanctuary (and rehoming centre & animal hospital) and has a little vegan cafe on site. The latter is great how they help animals and it was good to see the animals. The food in the cafe is very basic, not the best, quite limited options but very reasonably priced and went down well and staff were friendly. They have a range of vegan snacks too which we picked up

Very happy customer - Edit
We enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at Animals in need with our 9 month daughter. It was wonderful to let her experience being with the animals in a setting where they are being saved rather than killed.
Read moreThe staff were lovely, big thanks to Emma for 2 lovely vegan breakfasts inc sausage and bacon! Lovely selection of sweeties and drinks in the cafe too. Really clean and cosy setting. Will definitely be returning and would recommend to all.

Fab ethics, okay food and friendly staff - Edit
Parking is tricky but caters for disabled space and good location close to Irchester country park for a walk. Food made on site is reasonably priced, great portion size but don't expect restaurant quality - more like a local cafe which suits the vibe of the the area. Also stock vegan cakes by a bakery which are a bit pricier but absolutely delish and hard to source locally otherwise. Very well spaced for covid safety, lovely staff and nice to see the money going to a good cause.

Cons: Parking tricky (but quiet location), Opening hours are limited

Good cause but not what we expected - Edit
The cafe was not what we expected. We came for afternoon coffee and cake. Parking was a nightmare and there weren’t any cakes at all!
Read moreWe had lasagne and full English. The food was fine if not a little on the unhealthy side. It’s basically a vegan greasy spoon kind of place, which is perfectly fine just not what we had in mind.
They sell bits and bobs in the cafe too like tempeh and treats.
Go if you’re in the area and do support the sanctuary!!

100% vegan - Edit
Great cafe with 100% vegan food and situated at a vegan Sanctuary. The lady who cooks the food is always very welcoming and friendly. Choices such as lasagne, shepherd's pie, all day breakfast plus lots of goodies to buy for dessert. What's not to love? Meet the resident animals and then eat in the cafe after.

Lovely sanctuary, worthy cause - Edit
This is such a lovely idea, to have an animal sanctuary and a cafe whose proceeds go towards the care of the animals.
Read moreWe had the full breakfast. It was all vegan but it was not at all health food, so if that matters to you maybe give the food a miss and just enjoy the animals and donate towards their keep. There are 2 photos of the full breakfast on here. One looks way better than the one we had, with whole wheat bread, greens, tomato, 2 sausages etc. Ours was totally different.
Pros: all vegan, all proceeds go to support the sanctuary
Cons: greasy processed food
