Take-out
Vietnamese
Vegetarian restaurant with extensive menu where the dishes are mostly vegan, but some contain butter - look on the menu for "xào bơ" or "bơ." Gets very busy on the 2 days of the lunar calendar where locals usually eat chay, and often closed the following day. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-8:00pm.

Best "fancy" veggie restaurant in Tam Ky - Edit
Fancy is releative. An is a nice sit down restaurant (fans only, no AC) with a multi-page menu with rice, noodles, mushrooms, soups, veggie sides, hot pot, sharable platters and more. Compared to every other chay veggitarian restaurant in Tam Ky which only has a single offering of a rice or noodle dish for 15 to 20k this place is great for a change. Prices can be as cheap as 25k for fried rice (cơm chiên) but expect to spend around 40k for a full meal per person
Read moreAll the dishes are well presented and tasty. Menu is in Vietnamese only, but has some photos to give you an idea. The restaurant appears cleaner than most restaurants, as there is some decoration, stacks of cups for water instead of shared cups etc, but there are still rats in the kitchen when the staff are taking a break just like everywhere else. At least the food seems to be prepared to order, rather then sitting out in the open all day like in the cheap cơm chay places around the city.
While most items are vegan, note that at least some dairy products are used. Some of the fried dishes have butter. Look for "xào bơ" or "bơ" in the dish name. Showing the staff a vegan card in Vietnamese also is helpful. No English is spoken.
This place has pretty reliable hours and was often open when other places are closed or out of food. It is open till at least 20:00 every night (while every where else won't stay open a minute after 19:00). The 1st and 15th day of the lunar calendar An is VERY popular. The next day expect it to be closed, if not the whole day, it will be closed at least in the evening.
Note that not all the staff are vegetarian, and you might see them eating animal parts in their personal meals in the restaurant.
Pros: many menu items, open "late", nice space to sit
Cons: dairy products in some dishes, typical sanitation and hygiene issues
