Amy's Drive Thru - Edit
It's really great this option is in the area. I appreciated a healthy side option (lentils). The taste is OK. I'd eat here again to support the business but it isn't my favorite. See photos of food I posted below.

Like coming home. - Edit
After eating Amy’s frozen and canned foods for years, I was so ecstatic to visit the drive thru! Really went for it with the junk food and I couldn’t be happier!

Worth the trip! - Edit
I live on the east coast and this was on my vegan bucket list. We arrived in California for an event 90 min from Amy’s. We made the trek and it was so worth the 10 hours of flights, layovers, and then additional driving. My husband is gluten free and loved that there were no limitations. I loved being able to indulge in vegan fast food. Prices weren’t as high as I would have expected!

Amazing vegan food - Edit
I’m not vegan but I do enjoy eating vegan food from time to time. The Single Amy burgers with vegan cheese and grilled onions are amazing and I order them every time I go there. The vegan mac and cheese is also good, and is packaged well. The sodas and milkshakes (both dairy and non dairy versions taste great) are made with organic ingredients. The food is always fresh and I’ve never had a bad experience there. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for decent vegetarian/vegan options that are reasonably priced and decent quality.

Lord have mercy - Edit
We were road tripping it and stopped here 6-5-21. Everything was so good! We had the burrito, a salad, broccoli Mac and a burger and just tried everything like we always do. They have a vegan option for every menu item- just be careful to specify and be careful to remind when selecting a salad dressing (ex- the ranch is not vegan and the cashier rang it up and didn’t tell us that until we specifically asked, even when we specified vegan up front.) Everything was delicious and we’ll be back!

Go on vacation just to eat here - Edit
Yep, it's true. I take vacations just to go through the drive thru here. Spend a weekend gorging on Amy's is a fine way to veg out. Amy's is so famous I need not describe it but just in case, it is a vegetarian brand of typical American food, often in the frozen aisle. The restaurant is fast casual and the items can be veganized. The drive thru is popular but the wait isn't bad. Wish Amy's would create drive thru's in a couple major cities in California and eventually nationwide because what they do, they do well.

Fun vegetarian and vegan fast food experience - Edit
While no gourmet meal, Amy’s will bring you back to childhood memories of going to fast food restaurants with family and friends. They offer all your typical fare: burgers, fries, shakes, etc. Everything can be made vegan, but you have to request (doesn’t seem like most things are vegan by default). Some of the star players are the Amy’s burger, chili fries, and mac and cheese.

Decent veg fast food - Edit
Friendly staff, good veg food with variety. All of the food is vegetarian, and can be made vegan.
Read moreMy review of the vegan food: vegan burger was meh, I don't recommend it. Vegan broccoli and mac and cheese and vegan pizza with vegan sausage was good! Next time I'll get the margherita pizza without the sausage though, it wasn't good enough that I need to spend the extra couple dollars to get it again. Non-dairy shakes are excellent, my boyfriend who is not vegan really liked it as well (we tried vanilla, strawberry, nitro cold brew and they are all great!).
Boyfriend's review of the vegetarian food, made with dairy cheese: he liked the chili cheese fries and the broccoli mac and cheese. He says the mac and cheese was just ok, but "good for fast-food."
The food was good enough that I will certainly make an effort to go here whenever I'm on a road trip up north, and gonna check out the Amy's in the airport too.
Pros: Everything can be veganized, Good option when you're on the road
Cons: It's fast food - don't expect too much

Nice alternative - Edit
It’s great to be able to get a classic fast food meal made vegan - as a fun treat. The vanilla milkshake was tasty, even my non vegan husband really enjoyed it. However, the burger is pretty bland, the patty has almost no flavour to it. I would probably go back if it happened to be on my way during lunch time, but I wouldn’t go there on purpose again.

Greasy oasis - Edit
Amy's has been making vegetarian and vegan frozen food for ages, and now have a fast food drive-thru and drop-in place. It's not bad, but certainly not necessarily a "healthy" place. Obviously plenty of vegan options, and no meat burgers or meat chili, which makes it cool for that. Been a couple times now, but frankly, it's a bit of a heartburn kind of place. Clearly it's far and above any traditional fast food chain type place, os there's definitely that. And it does seem pretty popular, so good for them.

Very good for a typical fast food restaurant. Everything can be made vegan which is awesome. Hits the fast food desire of easy fatty food. Love the convenience of the drive through and the building is eco water recycling which is awesome.

Glad for a new choice... however - Edit
I am updating my previous review which I wrote shortly after this location opened. Since then I’ve been back several times.
Read moreThey provide a good alternative to the standard fast food choices.
Food is consistent and the atmosphere is great.
The location in SFO has a better selection
The burgers are ok but once you’ve had an impossible or a beyond burger you might be disappointed
I increased my rating this time to encourage them to keep building on what they have. Others may have jumped in offering vegan vegetarian burgers but they are cooked in a atmosphere with meat products.
I have also campaigned my home city of Walnut Creek to allow the new Proposed Amy’s location on North Main.
Pros: Atmosphere, Staff
Cons: Food was bland , Fries undercooked , Over use of packaging

Great Vegetarian Mostly Organic Food - Edit
This is a really good place to go for quick vegetarian or vegan meals. You can take out or hang out with friends. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have opened a couple of additional locations in California as well. It's a relief to go to a restaurant where I don't have to ask questions about ingredients and how the food was prepared.

Good Vegan Fast Food - Edit
I am thankful that Amy’s exists to give vegans a fast food option. Many non-vegan friends come here and rave about it, but sadly only because they ordered lots of dairy. I love that they are exhibiting some eco-friendly practices, but I wish they would give patrons real silver wear, cups, plates etc...when eating in the restaurant. There is no reason to have one-use containers even if they’re careful to separate trash. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Dog friendly and vegan milkshakes! - Edit
You can bring your pet in the patio and they give you dog treats. It's very clean and the location is very pretty. I had a hamburger, fries, and a milkshake and it was so surreal to get it as fast food. The milkshake was my favorite. If anything, I would suggest they choose a different bun. I didn't enjoy the bun that much on the burger, but it was still good!

The vegetarian In-N-Out - Edit
I can only give a spot that supports the veal industry a fair score. That said, it is doing great things for meat reducers and everything on the menu can be made plant-based for a vegan tax of $.50 per item- This could really add up if you brought in a family. The vegan pizza (plus $.50) and burrito (plus $.50) were so so, the vegan Mac and cheese (plus $.50) would have been awesome with a little salt. The vegan chili cheese fries (plus $.50) and milkshake (plus $.50) were amazing. The vegan tax for our party of two was $2.73 after taxes. We over-ordered to try everything and left happy and overfull. The building is fun and eco friendly with rainwater catchments and a living roof. The drive through was packed but the inside had plenty of available seating. I’ll be eating there again soon.
