Don't recommend. Try amituofo in Brooklyn - Edit
Weird atmosphere in the restaurant. Walked in and was greeted by.. a zoom call? The hostess was there digitally via a zoom call. The food is mediocre. For better a better restaurant that has the same food fare, go to amituofo

Good vegan Chinese food - Edit
I had the Singapore Mei Fun, which was tasty and filling. Afterwards, I talked with the owner for a while. She is really sweet. She gives 100 free meals to homeless people every Saturday.

Sesame Chicken - Edit
I’m sad to say I was pretty disappointed by the meal. I got the lunch special (very good price, $8!) and the meat/breading ratio was very poor, sauce seemed low quality, rice seemed a bit undercooked. Health rating currently at a C. I would love to be proven wrong about this place.

Failing Health score - Edit
Wish I could have had some of the food there however when I arrived after a 20 minute drive there was a health code letter grade C. So I left without entering.

I can't say one bad thing about Amitabha. They never disappoint! I've had the barbecued roast pork, fried wontons, wonton soup, General Tso's chicken, spring rolls, and dumplings.

Orange Vege Chicken - Edit
Amitabha Vegan has incredible Chinese food made vegan!
Read moreMy favorite dish is the orange vege chicken. Although I enjoy
the soft and chewy texture of the vege chicken, the orange
sauce is what keeps me ordering again!
Additionally, the prices and portion sizes are hard to beat! It
seems that they even offer half price on everything except
sushi and burgers on select days. I have yet to order during
those days, but I'm keeping an eye on them! I can’t wait to try out their other menu items. 😋
Pros: Great portions, Affordable prices

I will stay hopeful - Edit
I have gotten take-out here twice now, both times in the last week or so. I ordered on-line; it was easy. The confirmation tells you the order will be ready in 20-30 minutes.
Read moreThe first time at AV, we ordered their Vegan Burger. It was really delicious. (I think the patty is Beyond Burger.) If you fondly remember the taste of a McDonald’s Big Mac, you will really love this burger. It was hard (and messy) to eat because the burger patty is too thick, but it was still a joy to eat. (If I were preparing the patty myself, I would definitely flatten it.) I will try the Vegan Burger with cheese and french fries next time! I think we waited around 40 minutes before the text message came in letting us know the order was ready for pick-up. That felt a bit too long, but it still seemed reasonable, as it was only 10 minutes more than the high end of the expected wait time.
The second time at AV, we ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, Stir-fried Mixed Vegetable Plate with Brown Rice, the Steamed Dumplings, and the Avocado Roll.
• I really enjoyed the dumplings.
• The mixed vegetable plate was good, but was around 90% cabbage and maybe bok choi with some small carrot bits and big water chestnut slices. I expected more of a “mix” of vegetables than that. Also, I think there was too much corn starch added for the white sauce; it was too thick and a bit slimy. We loved that it was a low-sodium dish. I did not taste the brown rice.
• The Avocado Roll was horrible, the worst sushi roll I have ever had, I’m sorry to say. The main problem was the rice—it was not thoroughly cooked, so it felt hard and dry in the mouth. I just picked out and ate the avocado and nori. There was also too much rice and much too little avocado. The rice also didn’t look like a sticky sushi rice—it looked like regular white rice—so the pieces didn’t hold together well and crumbled a bit. It was not at all worth the $11.90 it cost.
• The Pineapple Fried Rice was a very good dish! …EXCEPT for the rice not being thoroughly cooked! It was much better after we brought it home and cooked it better.
Our order took 50 minutes to prepare. Considering the stated wait time is 20-30 minutes and that it was a Monday (?) afternoon, that felt much too long. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay until I commented on it.
We will go back to AV again, but I will make sure to start placing my order around an hour in advance. …and I will be very wary of ordering anything with rice!

Seitan spot ❤️ - Edit
Lucky they are allowing you to eat inside, but beware it is freezing and not glamorous at all. Food (amazing) is served in to go containers with plastic utensils. Made from scratch dishes that are generous and delicious! Live the seitan!

Consistently delicious, with a very generous menu! - Edit
I daydream about the barbecue roast veggie "pork" appetizer from Amitabha, and often. The restaurant has a sizeable menu and I've enjoyed every dish I've had so far. I've only ordered takeout but the restaurant itself looks comfortable and cozy.

Last minute delicious find - Edit
I visited here tonight and pretty much ordered a little bit of everything off of the menu. I think their way of checking you in is interesting and admirable. As you enter, there is a computer set up with someone on zoom greeting you which avoids all human interaction and prevents the spread of this virus. They call you and tell you your food is ready and you then go in and get your food. The duck entree was super yummy, I think the base was bean curd. The wonton were delicious! The general tso chicken lives up to it's spicy description but provides the zing with flavor. The king oyster mushrooms are as close to calamari as you can get while eating plant based. The pork fried was mediocre, not bad, but I was hoping for more. The barbecued seitan was amazing! So delicious! Let's talk about portion sizes... Oh. My. Goodness. They are large! Perfect size for my party of 5 with leftovers! Overall, I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

What a Great Addition - Edit
Edited 3/12/21 Last two times I had food from them it was not that great. I had rated them five stars, but dropping to four. If I never ate there before it would be a 2 or 3. I am going to give them another shot, but todays lunch had overcooked almost burnt fried wantons, the soup also had a burnt taste, the General Tso chicken was soggy and the veggies were over-cooked and was more salty than before. I have been really disappointed the last two times. I will update this either way in the future.
Read moreI had never heard of this place until someone posted about them on Facebook and the timing was perfect. I got hurt mountain biking and have my arm in a sling and cooking is a challenge. I went there and ordered three lunch specials to last a few days.
General Tso Chicken was so good, reminded me of my pre-vegan days and a local place I loved
Chicken and broccoli was also excellent with a nice sauce and more "chicken" then most places give.
Cedar Tofu was excellent, but maybe too many vegetables as they veggies overpowered the sauce if that makes sense. But to be fair I had it two days later, so that might have been the difference.
The real surprise was I ordered fried wontons and they were AMAZING and I want them right now.

Delicious vegan-Asian food - Edit
This is a real treasure for vegans. Because the philosophy of the owner/cooks is based on kindness and respect for life, you don’t have to wonder whether the food contains eggs or other animal products. Last but not least, the food is delicious. I highly recommend the barbecued “pork” (seitan).
