Serves meat, vegan options available. Typical Tex Mex cuisine but with vegetarian options, and at least one meal in each category of the menu can be made vegan. The veg nachos and veg burrito can both be made vegan by omitting the cheese and sour creams (will instead give you extra guacamole instead). Two of the soft tacos are vegan. Open Mon-Sun 12:00pm-12:00am.

Probably the best lunch we had touring the South Island. - Edit
My partner and I both ordered a burrito and asked for it to be vegan. It included vegan sour cream and vegan cheese. It was full of plenty of fresh ingredients and it was very delicious. It was definitely the best vegan sour cream we'd ever had. It was also the cheapest meal we had at only $13.00 for the burrito and a choice of salad or chips (after two weeks travelling throughout the south island).

Separate Vegan Menu - Edit
Ask for their Vegan Menu - enjoyed the cauliflower and BBQ jackfruit tacos - both were very good, lots of flavor and a nice kick at the end. Also enjoyed their corn chips with guacamole and salsa - swapped the quest for an extra guac. Service was very friendly and would definitely recommend.

Did the job! - Edit
Great to see plenty of vegan options on the menu in such a small town! The soft tacos were tasty, however very spicy which we weren't aware and unfortunately made them less enjoyable. Filling and reasonably priced, good enough for a quick dinner in Cromwell, don't expect anything spectacular but definitely worth the visit as there's not many other options in town, staff were lovely also.

Vegan-friendly and filling - Edit
Amigos makes a good pit stop when traveling between Queenstown and points north or east. They took good care to make sure we received only vegan items. When you arrive, ask for the “special diets menu,” which is not a vegetarian menu but rather a different version of the regular menu that clearly marks which items are (lacto-)vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free. With this, you can pretty well figure which items might be veganizable, and your server will help you be sure (asking the chef if necessary). Note that, for example, the mushroom tacos can’t be made vegan because the mushrooms are cooked with butter.

Service was warm and friendly. We only wish there were more vegan options.

Good food! Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs although the the menu stated there were more vegetarian options and when asked about it they said that it wasn't vegetarian

Great if you like onions! - Edit
I was greatful that there was a restaurant in Cromwell with a few vegan options. The menu has two vegan soft tacos, plus a vegetarian burrito that can be veganized by leaving off the cheese and sour cream. However all of these items were well endowed with onions to which I am sensitive. Onions are prevelant in the refried beans, the sauces, the salsa, the guacamole, and slaw. If you leave out the items with onions there is very little left to eat if you're vegan. Because of the lack of variety in the menu (using something other than onions for flavor), and for the very limited vegan options to begin with, I gave this restaurant an average rating. I think if you love onions you would probably like the food.

Cons: Too much reliance on onions for flavor
