Gorgeous space - Edit
I had read about this place on HappyCow and was in town (June 2014), so I went in for a look. Here's my Alchemy Cafe review - well, not much of a review but rather a comment.
Read moreThe cafe is attached to a spa/wellness studio. First you enter through a small foyer with high ceiling, take an immediate left, up a short set of steps, then you arrive a the actual cafe. Although the actual space is small, the high ceiling and the large windows give an air of space, and the feel is quite welcoming and relaxed.
There is a counter where the staff rings up your order, then brings the food to you. From the menu, I saw many dishes with egg though also has a few vegan choices. The prices are slightly high, but probably average for this downtown part of Santa Barabara. There is also a fridge with bottled juices.
I would like to return the next time I'm in town for some food. The food descriptions looked interesting.
