Tasty food

Good food but you could tell it was v preprepared - bread out of a packet and the spinach filo rolls were served frozen in the middle. Tasty enough but the size of some dishes weren’t worth the price

Pros: Clearly marked dishes

Great food and wine

Small and delicious veggie plates served with tasty Lebanese beer. Enjoyed the food. Bit cramped in so sometimes you might get plates of meat a bit too close but otherwise one of the best restaurants in Oxford in my view.

vegan options clearly labeled, flavor was good. I suggest order more small dishes. We are 3 girls, we ordered 4 small dish 2 mains 1 soup , came out to be £36.

Pros: varies vegan food options, reasonable price, great environment

Cons: bread was served cold, looked like store bought

Really Good Lebanese

This is a fantastic place in Oxford. The food here was really good I would highly recommend it if you like middle eastern food.

Many many vegan options clearly marked on the menu to try from.

Be certain to try the Zahra Maqlia and the flatbread.

Pros: Great food, Large vegan choice clearly marked

Veggie set menu is a real delight

Here for £12 or £15 you can get a selection of vegetarian dishes that they choose. Go for it. It is fantastic and don't even bother with the mains – the vast selection of meze will be more than enough to fill you up and tickle your taste buds.

Pros: Mouth-watering dishes, Huge range of veggie meze, Beautiful decor and quirky feel

Cons: You need to reserve at weekends

My favourite Oxford restaurant

Despite not being a vegan, nor even vegetarian restaurant, Al Shami is my favourite place to eat in Oxford.
It's best to go as a group of people as the dishes are mostly meze (small plates) so you should order lots and all share. All vegetarian and dishes are clearly marked on the menu and there are many to choose from.

Many (labelled) vegan options, and good food

The menu is very well labelled, with many vegetarian and vegan dishes labelled as such. The prices are low to moderate, though the portion sizes are a little small. The service was also good, and a platter of vegetables is provided before your food arrives.

We particularly liked the falafel (in combination with the hommos), and the fried cauliflower dish (Zahra Maqlia), as well as the spinach dish (Sebanikh Bilzeit)

Pros: Good food, Good service

Cons: Serves meat
