Quaint vegan cafe - Edit
Came in on a weekend near the end of brunch for vegan birthday dinner in town. Ordered the autumn hash and mom had banana buckwheat pancakes. She said she has never had better buckwheat pancakes! The hash was amazing as well, whatever aioli whip they had on top was incredible! Ordered the mushroom biscuits and gravy and the dinner forager’s pie to go, as the staff was kind enough to allow me to order a dinner order to go since we were close enough to their dinner service. I have never had better biscuits and gravy! The forager’s pie was incredible as well! All in all an amazing meal for three meals in a row! Staff was friendly and amazing

Amazing food, friendly service - Edit
Just discovered this place, we go to Eugene a lot & its convient being next to Sweet Life since we like their baked goods too. Happy that Acorn changes the menu for seasonal dishes, so many pumpkin spice options for fall! Will be returning, can't wait to try more!

Taste and Charm - Edit
What a beautiful concept! Cute place with indoor and patio seating. Servers are great and made recommendations that were spot on. One day, I was in the mood for sweet and savory breakfast, but didn't want two mains. The server offered a side of potatoes to go with the pancakes and it was perfect. Their Summer Hash is one of the best meals we have ever eaten! We added the lobster mushrooms, and whoa... amazing! Don't miss anything they offer with mushrooms. They have a local forager they work with and it makes for a special mushroom treat. During our month stay in Eugene, I only wish we had eaten there more than twice!

The menu had both sweet and savory for brunch. We had banana pancakes and hash - both amazing! Be sure to add the foraged mushrooms to the hash.

Positive Community Vibes - Edit
We got brunch at this place. We both thought the biscuits and gravy sounded the best on the menu. Love the community vibe of the place, the pay it forward, no tip style. The biscuits and gravy was serviceable, but it didn't blow me away. The service was very slow.

Love - Edit
Friendly service, great food, and I love the judgment-free support for those in need. I had the pancakes, a chai latte, and a blueberry muffin for later, and everything was excellent. The server who helped me was friendly and helpful, and I saw several people come in for free meals, and they were served without question.

The definition of comfort food - Edit
My partner and I came in last Friday (11/3) for some pre-concert food. I am not exaggerating when I say I felt like I was in a Frog and Toad book when eating the Forager’s Pie.
Read moreFrom the beautifully piped and torched potato mash on top to the perfectly cooked veggies and lentils, it was truly a meal that satisfied both my body and soul.
I live on the coast, and Acorn is definitely worth a drive to visit.
And to top it all off, Acorn has a very welcoming and cozy atmosphere and a wonderful mission to help feed members of the community. This is an important restaurant in Eugene, and I wish there were more like it elsewhere in Oregon.
Pros: Atmosphere , Perfectly cooked veggies , Unique food

Phenomenal & inspiring - Edit
I've visited Acorn Community Cafe twice, and I can't wait to go back again. The ambiance is cozy, the food is incredible, the prices are reasonable, and the owners are so kind. I am still thinking my autumn hash with locally foraged mushrooms, refreshing homemade soda, and a coffee chip milkshake with a cookie for desert.
Read moreNot only is the food incredible- This cafe provides thousands of meals to hungry members of the community each year through a pay it forward meal system and their food resource center. This is truly some of the most memorable food I've had in a long time as well as one of the best mission-based organizations in the area.

Everything was Delicious - Edit
We ordered the Autumn hash and pumpkin waffles and everything was so skillfully prepared. Rich savory flavors in the hash with seasonal squash, potatoes, white beans, and dollops of vegan cream were augmented by our addition of the wild foraged mushrooms and savory gravy sides. The pumpkin waffle was comforting on a cold fall day with its own hints of savory flavor. Highly recommended

Great food & fast service. Our Forager’s pie and Vegetables Verde were delicious. We were not fans of the Mac& cheese. The sauce is more of a sweet blended butternut squash, not our thing

There is a unique policy here where you can't tip yet you can pay it forward to make a dana aka donation to pay for someone else's meal in various dollar amounts.
Dana aka donations and seva aka selfless service.
The food here is well made and all vegan made with quality ingredients. The chefs here know their stuff.
As eating at an all vegan restaurant. Too much choice.
I opted to go with the Summer Hash and added foraged mushrooms to it. I loved it. It was very tasty and healthy.

Healing the community - Edit
I'd love to see a cafe like this in every city. Acorn Community Cafe is a tip-free cafe that factors a living wage into the cost of their menu items. They have a free food pantry open 10AM-5PM, Wed-Sun, for anyone who needs food. The bathroom is also there for anyone to use, and it's stocked with pads, deodorants, condoms, and multiple types of diapers. Buying one of their coffee cups gives 5 free coffees to neighbors in need. Their nonprofit partnership with 86 Hunger has created a truly wonderful movement.
Read moreThey have a lot of gluten-free options, and the menu has quite a bit of variety. They now have a dinner menu too! The coffee is tasty. The biscuits and gravy are nice and satisfying. Winter Hash is amazing if you're a mustard lover. Grapefruit brûlée is perfect for when you want something sweet but light. #Veganuary

This is veganism done right. It's amazing to read this exists in USA. Everyone should follow this model. This is the future. And that grapefruit brulee? Oh my word! Beautofu. 🌈🙏❤️

I completely agree! This is exactly what should be going on at vegan places.. It just makes sense. There's more that I didn't fit in my review, like free vegan chili served 5 days a week for lunch in addition to the free pantry, and you can also choose to pay forward the items you ordered to other customers. The building they're in is being sold out from under them, so I seriously hope they're able to find a new location 💔
