Serves meat, vegan options available. Menu has chiles rellenos, hand made tortilla, lentils soup with soya chorizo, beetroot soup, tamales, guacamole, humus with chile serrano, and salads. Garden setting. FEB 2016 REPORTED SHUT BY COW MEMBER.
Although the place os not a vg restaurant you can find several vegan options in the menu
We came accross the restaurant by chance and were happily suprised when we saw a "vagan cuisine" sign outside
We tried the lentils and chorizo soup, the filled peppers and the avocado soup. It was delicious!!
The restaurant has outdoor sitting only and a very cosy atmosphere with some bossa nova playing
Although the dishes on the menu seem very typical at a glance, this place serves up some real fresh and original bites. And the best part is that everyone can eat here. You can have some meat, fish, vegetarian & vegan food. And for everyone of us there is more than one choice.
This is the kind of place you want to take your meat eating friends and show them that eating vegan isn't boring at all.
We had some filled tamales with salsa, lentills soup with vegan Chorizo and tacos with mushrooms, avocado and some kind of delicious green tomato salsa. All the dishes were very tasty and superfresh, not greasy, spiced but not to spicey very nice indeed. A fresh and original take on traditional dishes.
By the way Abuelas means at grandma's and that name is just perfect. This grandma wants you to have some delicious food but stay healthy as well. Friendly owner/cook as well. The prices are around 40-70 pesos per dish.
