Nach langem mal wieder richtig gut gegessen - Edit
Vorab gab es Samorsa und Hummus, und als Hauptgang Timtumo(Linsen). Wir waren länger nicht mehr dort, da das Servicepersonal eine Katastrophe war. Heute haben wir es mal wieder versucht, neues Personal war da und der Herr hat uns auch das Essen gemacht. Hat alles super geklappt und sehr gut geschmeckt.

Bad. A worker, a blond woman, screamed at us and insulted us. We don’t know why. Very uncomfortable and sad situation. The rest of the team was nice with us, maybe a bit ashamed at the situation. The woman first screamed at me because i didn’t understand that she asked me to wait outside, she screamed several times and said things I didn’t understood in German. And when I was going to pay with my partner she spoke out loud to a coworker about how bad she finds us and she made fun of us. we are a queer couple. We will never return there. Sad

Hab dort bisher nur die vegane Platte gegessen, die ich total lecker fand. Gerade, wenn man mit mehreren Leuten da ist, kann ich das sehr empfehlen. Dazu gab es Reis und das typische pfannkuchenartige Brot.

Tasty but bad service - Edit
As we entered the restaurant there was no one who saw us. We waited at the bar but still no one. Then we went to the table on our own and waited for 15 min, but no waiter or waitress came. Then we got the menu on our own but we had to wait for another 10 minutes until finally a waitress served us. Me and my Meat-eating boyfriend shared the vegan plate for two, it was really good and filling.

Sehr leckere vegane Speisen mit vielen Angeboten. Besonders empfehlenswert ist die vegane Platte, um alle Gerichte kennen zu lernen. Injera wird kostenfrei nachgereicht - auch Verdauungsschnaps oder Kaffee am späten Abend wird aufs Haus angeboten. Würde behaupten, dass die Menüs sehr authentisch sind, das Lokal ist auch gemütlich eingerichtet mitten in der City. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, der Inhaber extrem freundlich! Hier geht man gerne wieder essen.

tasty vegan dishes - Edit
We ordered the vegan plate for two (20 euro) and it was delicous! A huge variety of super tasty main dishes with rice, injera (kind of bread) and salad. I would recommend a reservation, especially in the evening. Fruit beer is also very good and something special :)

this is a very busy place, we were lucky we were early as it filled up fast at dinner time. Very nice and helpful staff and a brisk service so we didnt wait long for the food.We shared a vegan platter for two and I had a mango juice. The platter was lovely, 6 different curries, rice and bread. I was totally stuffed afterwards and it was all delicious. If I were in kassel again I would definitely go back there again. The omni friend I was with loved it too.

We shared the combination of different vegan dishes and liked it. It's not the most authentic Ethiopian restaurant we've been to, but it was definitely nice and not expensive at all for the size of the dish.

Lovely Ethiopian food - Edit
Since my girlfriend and I had not known their vegan dishes yet, we went for the mixed platter with a portion of every dish for two people for 20€. This combination was really tasty as every dish savoured differently. Although the service was a bit slow at the beginning, the food arrived quickly. What we did not like were the interior fittings mainly because of the wooden scaffolding with its roof inside the main room.

I am a big fan of Abyssinia. I always love to come here and the food, service and drinks are always perfect. You can easily share a plate with friends all vegan if you want and super tasty. Already looking to come back! :)

A great menu with serveral dishes and rice, couscous and an african bread. You can choose between vegan, vegetarian or "normal". For vegans they leave the butter out of the couscous. Because of their religion they be in the know of veganism.

Very neat place. Seemed quite popular. We had the combination plate recommended and this was very nice - we hadn't eaten abessinian before. They brought some special food (unordered & free) for our 1yr old - which was a nice touch, and gave us complimentary drinks before we left. The waiter spoke english quite well and was very friendly explaning ingredients etc. Overall, to be recommended.
