Always great - Edit
abcv is always amazing. 100% worth the price. If you sit outside you can order from the abccocina menu as well, which has some very good vegan options. The cauliflower is a must. everything we ate was excellent

Beautiful interior and very flavorful dishes. I wish the menu clearly labeled the vegan options to help us decide what to order but the waitress pointed out some tasty options! Overall great experience for a Sunday brunch.

Too pricey - Edit
This is please is beautiful. Pristine looking. Very friendly staff and amazingly tasted food, but way to expensive. I had beluga lentils with sweet potatoes which was supposed to be my main dish, but it felt like a small appetizer. It was delicious but at $24 I was still hungry. I guess I could have ordered side dish of rice for $16…. Well, it was tasty but I don’t think I will be going back.

Good but nothing mind blowing / worth the hype or the price. However, service was excellent.

Mind Blowing Flavors - Edit
My husband and I ate at abcV for dinner while enjoying a Christmas weekend in the city. At nearly $30 a dish, which are meant to be shared, it put it into the special occation dinner range for our wallet. We ordered three and shared them. It was enough food that we were full but not overly so by the end.
Read moreWe started with the Whole Roasted Cauliflower with turmeric tahini, za’atar, date molasses pomegranate, red zhug, fresh herbs, pistachio at $29. I was skeptical because everyone now has a whole roast cauliflower, but it was truly amazing. You could tell the cauliflower was first branded and had flavor throughout even before the herb tahini top or red zhag sauce.
We then followed it with the Saison Battered Maitake with calamansi turmeric honey, black tahini togarashi, scallion at $28. It was by far the best mushroom dish I've had. Mind blowing in crunch and the sauce was a perfect mix of sweet and acidity to cut the fried batter.
We finished with the Wild Matsutake Kabocha Wontons with aromatic peppercorn broth citrus, tender market greens at $35. It was the only letdown of the evening. Though the filling of the wonton was delicious the broth wasn't to our taste. Would recommend skipping this dish.
Pros: Delicious , Inventive, Seasonal
Cons: Pricy, Some portions are very small, Food brought in odd order with soup bing last

Lovely dinner - Edit
Beautiful dinner in stylish restaurant! I took friends out for a special occasion and this was a great place. None of them were vegan but all of them had a great time. The service was amazing and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the truffle pasta special. Probably would not recommend it. The white truffles were not the best I had! Not very flavorful at all and at $68 the dish was pricey- as expected and I’d say not worth it. My friends porcini pasta was better! Other than that outstanding!

Very good vegan food - Edit
They really put a lot of thought and creativity into their meals. They had an appetizer of stuffed dates which was I think the most delicious thing I've ever eaten? It's mostly vegan except a few dishes. Pretty pricey but worth it on occasion.

Very Bad Customer Service - Edit
Last evening my girlfriend and I stopped at AbcV for a small bite and some cocktails our waiter was very gracious and kind, he cleaned the very dusty table which we were very understanding of since all dining in NYC is outside and very close to street traffic. My review is about our treatment after he brought the bill, my girlfriend took out a $100, note and I a $20 to cover the bill, our waiter took the cash inside and proceed to return with the cash and ask if we don't have a card because Abcv is not talking cash. Now there was absolutely no mention from the hostes that seated us that the policy was no cash. Last I remember cash was a legit from of payment and in the Covid19 climate business who are not accepting cash would tell you immediately once you enter their establishment. Management needs to do way better because we felt PROFILED. To omit an important policy like this one to your customers is highly unprofessional and distasteful. A lot of Restaurants and establishments are not going to survive this pandemic....the public you serve are the ones that you rely on to turn things are. First impressions are everything. I will not return to AbcV and I am letting all my friends know. My money is very good elsewhere.

Yes, it's expensive, but it's also very good. Portions on spot on; quality over quantity. Atmosphere is excellent, service is terrific, but you pay for it.

Absolutely a New Standard for Vegan Cuisine - Edit
A vegan friend of mine booked us here for dinner on a Friday evening when I came through Manhattan. From the first bite, it was obvious that this place had set new standards for excellence in vegan cuisine. I mean, I'm vegan, but something called "carrots" doesn't exactly inspire the salivary glands, but they were amazing. The lettuce cups were exceptional, and even the hummus. The main course of mushroom-walnut bolognese was full of umami flavors. It's very pricey, but worth it.

Vegetables Done Right - Edit
Had a spectacular meal at AbcV the other night. Although the restaurant is technically vegetarian, it has an abundance of options for vegans. The menu is divided into different sections: cold plates; hot plates; noodles/pasta; grains; and dosas. For this visit, I focused exclusively on the hot section and chose two dishes, the market carrots and a half portion of the roasted cauliflower. The restaurant markets itself as a place where vegetables are allowed to shine. And shine they did. The flavoring on both dishes was distinctive and well-executed. The carrots came out roasted and sitting on top of hand ground nut and seed butters, along with a few chilies for additional flavoring. The combination was, at least to my palette, perfect--and not overly filling. The cauliflower--even the half portion--was a more sizeable and filling dish. It came with a shot glass of turmeric-tahini sauce that you could pour over the cauliflower. For added flavor, the cauliflower was served on top of pistachios and pomegranate seeds. A side of lemon gave me the option of adding in some acidity. These two dishes alone were worth the trip and, in my judgment, were reasonably priced as of this writing ($18) given the value.

Generally has well conceived and out of the box dishes. An exceedingly pleasant experience. I’m not usually a fan of small plate dining, but this place works.

“Undeniably Out of this World” - Edit
My Husband Booked us for My Birthday Dinner at AbcV. Our continued travels has given us the experience of high end chiefs in Spain & Italy who have been able to knock it out of ball park for our vegan palette. Abcv brings me to tears doing just that for us trying to live this vegan lifestyle here at home. It has been a struggle living in New Jersey, but grateful to be close to New York and finding places that have this quality. Jean George, we love you for the passion you bring and for encouraging other chiefs to start taking us high end plant based lovers seriously. The flavoring you have brought to your dishes are unforgettable and encouraging me to continue to grow as someone that wants to be creative at home. For those of you that are not vegan, it’s so worth the experience. I ate the spaghetti with mushrooms, mushrooms and me never got along, it has been on my “forever will never touch list my whole life”, yes I’m laughing at myself right now, unbelievable true, expect nothing less then a super great night at ABCV!
