the worst raw vegan restaurant... - Edit
As I have been a raw vegan for some years, I have tried raw vegan restaurants and I also make them at home.
Read moreWe tried juice extract, smoothies, entree, main dish, cheese plate, and dessert.
All of them were off and really disappointing, as I know raw vegan food is very delicious.
The service was also not good.

more of and experience that a meal - Edit
First off - don't come to this restaurant too hungry, as the dishes are small (and expensive). But as an experience of raw vegan food, it is a good restaurant.

Dinner - Edit
Went for a dinner as part of my culinary solo tour of Paris.
Read moreCooking is my profession, interest and passion, so if I go somewhere with an aim to check out a place, my expectations are hard to meet.
42 Degres did it. I rarely go for raw food restaurants, but after doing a research regarding fine dinning in Paris, decided to give 42 Degres a try.
Took a starter, a main and a drink. Starter was a selection of 3 types of cheeses that were totally enjoyable and wasn't the usual flavors. Was good.
Regarding the main dish, was really happy with my selection. Seing what other people got, made me think that if I might have got something else, I might not be so content with the visit.
Overall, the food is made with creativity (flavors/combinations/presentation), care and delivered in a tehnically good manner.
Would probably try other places before returning, but still it's a place I would recommend.
It's a small place, so make a reservation.
Pros: Nice flavors, Friendly stuff
Cons: Price

Pros: Haute cruisine, Menu , Saveurs
Cons: Cadre un peu fade

Expensive Fat Bombs - Edit
The food was not bad although not incredible but everything was extremely fat based, apart from a tasteless algae salad (it only tasted onion).
Read moreI have been feeling bad and lethargic since I ate this meal over 14 hours ago, yet raw food is supposed to make you feel good and energised.
Some people are in the illusion that eating 90% of your calories from raw fat is healthier than eating a cooked meal based on carbohydrates. IT is not. Fat is unhealthy in excess.
Raw food is better for you if it mainly consists of carbohydrates, not if it mainly consists of FAT.
I also paid 80 EUR for a meal of two people : two drinks, two entrees and two mains. Desserts would have exploded the 100 EUR mark.
And then with these ridiculous prices we cannot even pay by card because they want to avoid the card service commission !
A great deal of work goes into the food but it's still overpriced and too fatty.

Try the cheese plate! - Edit
When I went here, I made the mistake of ordering a very fishy-tasting homemade almond milk "paneer" with seaweed - I could barely finish it, and I'm not a picky person. It was just not to my tasting at all.

Had good dinner - Edit
It was good but we weren't too impressed. Cannelloni for starter were delicious. My boyfriend's starter- tomato with 'mozzarella' was so so. Lasagna for main dish was good, tasty but didn't meet my expectations, it lacked originality. My boyfriend liked his mushroom burger, for my taste too much mushroom but interesting concept. The 'cheeses' (3 different ones) were very good. I forgot the name of my desert - there were these 3 balls, some sauce and passion fruit, I didn't like it that much. I liked my boyfriend's dessert and so did he - it was something chocolaty. The service was good. The price high - 42 € for one menu.

horrible, passez votre chemin. - Edit
restaurant attrape-nigauds.

Raw chic-a-licious - Edit
My partner isn't a big fan of raw foods... or I should say he wasn't until 42 degres! We were both impressed by the food. It was inventive and tasty. The service was good, despite the place being absolutely packed. Reservations are essential. The cheeses are sublime. The ambiance was buzzy and fun. It's not cheap, but good raw food never is in my experience. Go if your budget permits!

A delicious but expensive experience - Edit
First time i ate in a raw restaurant. The food was delicious, creative and original, which is great because i am picky and often disappointed by vegan restaurants. But it's too expensive, even for Paris. We ordered a bottle of wine and when we saw the bill, it was 38 euros the bottle! I would definitely advise you to try this unique restaurant... if you can afford it.

Interesting and delicious experience - Edit
I wasn't so sure about coming here, having never really gone for the whole raw food experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised and I would definitely go back.
Read moreThe waitress was very helpful in explaining everything, the food was beautifully presented, and I left feeling full but not over-full. We had a starter, main and a glass of wine each, and it cost 33 euro per person. For an evening meal in Paris, I thought this was very reasonable for the quality of food.
We were there quite early in the evening, and it was no problem getting a table. However, it did get busy later.
Pros: Interesting menu, Good wine list
Cons: None, it was great!

get the cheese plate - Edit
The vegan cheese plate (frawmanges, €15) was easily the most exciting and creative dish I have EVER had. 5 vegan cheeses, homemade, with an apple spread. It's worth going just for this. Simply incredible. The desserts were also very good.

Unique and fabulous experience! - Edit
We tried to go for dinner to 42 Degres on several occasions, without reservation, but it was always full. We finally booked ahead of time and we are glad we did it! The food at 42 Degres is spectacular! It is incredible to see and to taste what the chef is able to create with raw products! The presentation is sublime and vibrant with colors. The menu is very short, but sophisticated, focusing on seasonal ingredients. We tried almost all the dishes available the evening we dined in. Each one of them was phenomenal, bursting with flavor and freshness. The service was flawless too. Our waiter was very informative and was happy to answer to all our questions. We had the chance to meet the owner and the chef after the dinner to congratulate them. Their passion for what they are doing shows in every aspect. 42 Degres is a 'must try' for anybody visiting or living in Paris and should be highlighted in every guide about the city ! The prices are very reasonable considering how much work is involved in the dishes' preparation and the high quality of the ingredients. We can't wait to be back!

Great and creative vegan raw food - Edit
I had dinner in this 100% raw and vegan restaurant, and have never regretted it. I've already eaten in other raw vegan places in Canada, in the USA, in Netherlands, but this place is definitely my favorite for raw food. I am not particularly fond of raw food but this dinner showed me I can definitely like it. I had a mushroom cream for starter, very yummy and so nicely presented. Then, I took the cromesquis and the raw burger with kale chips: astonishing. And finally, I chose the lemon cheesecake: amazing. Portions are not huge (that's why I took two main dishes) and prices are in line with Paris lifestyle... But the experience definitely worth it! I plan to come back again to try their raw vegan cheeses.

Great Raw Vegan Experience - Edit
I do not have much experience with raw food yet, so I still have to get used to it a little, but this was definitely a great experience. I can especially recommend the portobello hamburger and the cashew spaghetti. The staff was incredibly accommodating, the atmosphere was great. The only negative would be that the bathroom is a bit small and unfortunately located. Everything I tried here was for the first time and it was a great and interesting culinary experience.

Excellent Raw Vegan in Paris! - Edit
I ate here with two (omni) friends today, and we really did it right. Starters, the cheeze plate, mains, dessert, coffee/tea, and great conversation. This is the best raw vegan I've had, anywhere. You absolutely have to get the cheeze plate; my friends reported back favorably about their mushroom burger, and my sweet potato spaghetti was good too. We each had two beetroot carrot ginger juices, not because they were small but rather because they were so good. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and told us about some cooking lessons that they do on Sundays. I'm not often in Paris but I still put down my email as interested in taking a lesson there, hopefully someday the time will work out so I can!

Don't (quite) believe the hype - Edit
Well, I have to say that, in my view, raw food restaurants tend to fall short. I was here about a year ago, and had a set menu that consisted of three dishes: the starter didn´t look that appealing, but I appreciated the time put into its filling. I think it tasted sage in particular, which I enjoyed. The main course was a portobello burger and felt so-so. Nothing new, I think the Gentle Gourmet's is better though it may not be fully raw. As for dessert, it was some pear-based combination which not only didn´t do the trick, but actually felt more like a joke. All in all, while I think they deserve kudos for doing a 100% organic vegan thing, I wouldn't say you get so much value for your money.

cool lunch on a hot day in Paris - Edit
We did not have a reservation, therefore, we had to wait 30mins for a table. It would be a good idea to make a reservation even for lunch. We were seated and the server told us the prix fixe menu. It was beet noodles with seaweed and a tomato infused oil dressing and sesame seeds. Very good and substantial plat. For dessert we enjoyed the homemade ice cream with blueberries. A nice and further cooling end to the meal.
