Missing some joy - Edit
387 Ormeau Road is a cafe and they also have a 'grocery' corner of nice selection of vegan groceries. I saw a lot of items there that I haven't seen in Dublin stores, all very tempting.
Read moreThe cafe itself was comfortable and clean, the staff were very friendly and overall it was a good place to stop for a bite. We had the Tuna-style Chickpea Sandwich and the Moodley Manor BLT. They were both 'nice', but just nice. I think they were both really missing something and were walking a thin line between nice and bland. The BLT needed more MM 'bacon' for more flavour. The chickpea sandwich needed at least salt and was surprisingly a bit dry. They both needed some spicing up and my partner summed it up well by saying they were good sandwiches but 'joyless'.
Pros: Grocery store section, Great value, Friendly staff
Cons: Food could have been more flavourful

Consistently good food - Edit
Lovely little cafe that always has an amazing looking range of traybakes and desserts. The sausage rolls are excellent. The staff are friendly and the cafe has a lovely atmosphere but recently has been fairly busy. Also has a range of vegan products available to buy eg. oatly milk and vego chocolate bars.

Amazing vegan options and lovely coffee - Edit
Really nice all vegan cafe. Their menu is really good, well thought out and exciting items. I ordered the chickpea 'tuna' sandwich and a fifteen, both of which were beautiful and really filling - the sandwich is huge! Coffee was lovely, a wee gem of a cafe.

If you're in a hurry, why not - Edit
It's a cute little place, staff is very friendly.
Read moreThe sandwich I had was very bland, though. It was just the bread, the fake meat and ketchup... I was expecting some veggies or something.
Cookie was very good though!

5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Edit
The chickpea "tuna" sandwiches are incredible, and I always end up getting one of the fifteens with it! Generous portions, great options, and friendly staff. My only problem is that I always end up spending way too much on vegan treats!

Best vegan place in Belfast - Edit
Everything is delicious, particularly the veda bread from the avocado toast (I also have a massive soft spot for the sausage bagel). The hot drinks and milkshakes are great too. It was so good we went twice during our 24hr visit in Belfast. Both times music was great (either Melo or rock). You get exactly what you ask for and it's amazing.

Excellent cakes! - Edit
Have brought the family here a few times for sausage rolls and cake. Both the kids and adults absolutely love it.
Read moreThey do coffees, teas and hot chocolate with a great choice of milk and there have always been at least two cakes to choose from as well as cookies, tray bakes and other sweet treats.
We have yet to eat anything savoury apart from the sausage rolls.
It has a great little selection of storecupboard essentials to buy too and not so essentials such as crisps and marshmallows!
Pros: Fantastic cake, Friendly staff, Small shop selection too
Cons: A little small but we have always found a table

Awesome Vegan fare on Ormeau! - Edit
Totally Vegan restaurant serving a fantastic selection of coffees (such as an oat milk cappuccino and an Americano with hemp milk). Their sausage rolls are lovely and I was totally defeated by a huge slice of carrot cake! Will definitely visit again. As well as a cafe they also have a food shop!

Indulgent and healthy fare - Edit
I was feeling rather indulgent so I went full on with the tofu kale wrap and followed it up with a massive slice of lemon poppyseed cake. I really wanted to try the sausage roll, but alas, I only have so much room in my belly. I also had the filter coffee, which was rich and well done. If I lived in the area I would be back again and again.

That wee, trendier, cafe! - Edit
A minimalist cafe that offers a lot amindst tight competition in its area.
Read moreAfter the rapid closing of raw food rebs and "that vegan cafe", this is for the time being the only 100% vegan place in Belfast.
Very stripped down, but neat, design encloses a large range of food: mostly lunch and coffee focused.
This is the only Seitan offering place I have seen in NI. When I visited, they had 5 or so lunch offerings: soup, "sausage" roll, Seitan wrap, a tagline type stew and salad if I remember. I had the wrap - delicious and filling, mildly spiced with sweet chilli vegan mayo and seitan chunks. Compare had the saus roll and soup combo, tried a bit - again nice.
Coffee is smooth and light, tried a traybake (fifteen - so called as has 15 ingredients, usually marshmallows not vegan due to gelatine but of course all good here) - really nice and sweet. Lots of cakes and sweet treats on offer.
Offers a range of organic staples and a fridge and freezer for take home vegan goodies like a health food shop.
All in all, they do veganism right: low key, affordable, tasty and quick. Polar opposite of the billboard ads decrying meat and dairy as heinous that aren't promoting veganism the way they think. Better idea: offer great food and no compromises for forgoing dairy and meat.
I wish them great and well deserved success and will be back.
Side note: Still ormeau road is coming along, but some signs of the gentrification not being 100% complete: shambolic street drinker lying comatose beside several smashed winebottles nearby, but the rozzers eventually came for him (he was close by yesterday too). Same story with botanic and stranmillis though, but the best stuff tends to open in these "up and coming" areas.
Pros: Totally vegan , Organic offerings , Lunch tastic
Cons: Small , Parking
