Just come ... it's a great experience - Edit
I was dining alone so I only had a chance to try three things -- a salad, a pasta, and a dessert. I sat at the bar which overlooks the food preparation area, so I had a ring side seat to watch my meal being prepared. The chefs even delivered each course, describing each dish. I would get each of the three dishes I ordered again, but the menu is changed so frequently, I probably won't be able to do so. My Philly travel list now includes dining here, along with the excellent Vedge. This place was recommended by a local friend, and I'm so glad she made the suggestion.

Great Experience! - Edit
Pietramala is an excellent restaurant deserves the accolades that it has achieved. The menu is curated well to share a variety of small plates and entrees and the recent addition of cocktails, wines, and local beers is certainly welcome! This is an ideal spot for a special occasion or for a celebration.

One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia - Edit
Creative plant based dishes, not a veganized version of omni food. Every family member or friends I've taken here has loved it, and most of them are not vegan or vegetarian.

Pietramala is great. Definitely high end and pricey but casual and an experience to be savoured. Works best as share plates. Surprisingly food combinations, and all local ingredients from PA.

Worth a trip - Edit
They have a seasonal plant-forward menu, and overall the food was very good. We got the sourdough focaccia, beet salad, heirloom tomato salad, sungold tomato pappardelle, and stuff pepper with romesco. The tomato dishes were my favorite. You can really taste the quality of ingredients, and I love the additional of fermented items. It’s worth coming out of your way for.

Date night - Edit
Came on a date with my non-veg boyfriend and we both equally enjoyed the food! Amazing vibes and good service as well. The focaccia is pretty hyped up but I felt ours was dry and a little burnt. Would have to try again but the pasta was to die for! Creative flavors and ingredients.

The best restaurant in Philly - Edit
If you come to Philly and can only go to one place it should be Pietramala. I highly recommend going with 2-3 friends and getting every single dish on the menu. Yesterday I got to try their veggie burgers that they do once a month and it did not disappoint! The pictures don’t do it justice. An unbelievable place.

Elevated Plant-forward Dining - Edit
Dinner at @pietramela was absolutely divine — elevated vegan dining that puts plants on a pedestal 🌿✨
Read moreEvery dish was plant-forward, flavor-packed, and rich without being heavy. Most ingredients are organic and locally sourced — and you can taste the quality and care in every bite.
We started with the beet salad — sweet, creamy, bright, and crisp with a lovely herby note from fresh dill. The cucumber dish was pure umami: tamari, vinegar, creamy tofu, crispy fried tofu skin, green onion, and seaweed. So fresh and so layered.
My hubby had the eggplant — smoky, rich, with a perfect hint of spice. I had the broccoli, slow-stewed to a risotto-like texture. Deeply comforting, totally decadent.
No artificial vegan meats here — just thoughtful, beautifully prepared veggies. Truly a must-visit if you're in Philly and want to experience plants in their highest form.

What a gem! - Edit
It was our first time going to this restaurant. We were in town from Pittsburgh and I was so excited to see a restaurant that I had not yet been to. All of the dishes that we had were excellent and were whole foods plant based. The presentation was beautiful and fresh herbs and spices were implemented. The team of employees worked flawlessly together and created a perfect experience. The food was OUTSTANDING. We will definitely go back to this restaurant the next time we are in Philly.

A New Vegan Standard - Edit
What took us so long to get here???
Read morePietramala occupies the space that used to be Blackbird Pizza, a former vegan destination. Well, this is definitely a solid vegan destination. Yes, it is pricier than much vegan fare, but think of coming here for special occasions. You will not be disappointed. You will find elegance, both the interior space and the food with cocktails for grownups. Much as I loved Blackbird, I never liked the music they played. During our visit to Pietramala, quiet jazz was playing.
Back to elegance. There is a calm, unhurried atmosphere. The menu is carefully designed and subtlety reigns.
Pennsylvania sourced products are a source of pride. I am returning in my mind to the flavors of the salad. It might seem odd to highlight a salad, but if you taste it you will understand.
Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.
I heard that the 2 desserts, one featuring strawberries and the other chocolate are both great. Maybe I'll save room for that next time.
Pros: Subtle, creative menu, An elegance that vegans don't often expect

It’s the creative, seasonal, delicious menu we’ve all been craving in Philly. No half-measures here, everything is made with care and respect, it’s one of my favorite places to come for a relaxing and worthwhile night out. I can’t wait until the sumac tahini sweet potatoes and the broccoli pesto risotto are back in season 🥲

Both the vibes and food are immaculate - Edit
What a time to be alive (and vegan)!! Pietramala is the coolest place you've ever been to. If you thought Vedge was the holy grail you MUST try Pietramala. It's the hipper, cooler-yet-still upscale vegan restaurant the scene needed.
Read moreEvery single dish was a hit. Lots of adventurous cooking techniques and flavors like smoked pears, corn-cob tea, and tomato-based XO sauce.
We were both impressed and delighted. As hip and cool as this restaurant's food is, the service was pleasantly old-school with plate changes after every course, table crumbing, and water glasses that never hit more than half-drank without being refilled.
Come for the creativity and immaculate vibes of Pietramala. Bring your non-vegan friends and they'll be converted before dinner ends.
Pros: Amazing, creative, upscale vegan food, Cool vibes and excellent service, Prices are fair for the quality you get

Incredible - Edit
My wife and I came here for the first time and were BLOWN AWAY. Almost everything we had was well above a 8/10. We had the Combtooth Mushroom, the Farro Risotto, the Barncat Salad, and the Focaccia. Our favorite dishes were the focaccia—slightly charred in a delectable sauce—and the mushroom-polenta platter.

A second high end vegan restaurant in Philly - Edit
The best things about Pietramala were the very creative flavors and ingredients used in their dishes. I think their menu changes frequently, but we ordered 5 dishes: beet salad, focaccia, fresh tofu, potatoes, and fettuccine. 3/5 of these dishes were fantastic, 1 was good (the potatoes), and 1 we wouldn't prefer again (the fresh tofu). The service was fantastic. They were very attentive, giving us clean plates throughout the night and super friendly. 5 dishes was 1 too many for us, but we eat on the lighter side and came very hungry. We skipped dessert because we were so full. The photos from Pietramala don't do it justice because they do keep it rather dark in the restaurant so cameras have a hard time capturing the details and colors.
