Just happened to stumble across this gem of a pizza parlor while doing the tourist thing in Philadelphia. At least 6 vegan pies to choose from to have a slice. Very reasonably priced and super tasty.

tbh after getting 19293929 ads for blackbird pizza being able to be shipped frozen to florida i was really hyped up to try it! it was good, don’t get me wrong! but idk it certainly wasn’t my fav pizza ever or close to it. the store was so dingy too idk i had just came from new york so i was used to going to fancy vegan restaurants i guess but idk. the rootbeer was really good!

Great, all vegan pizza shop with a lot of options. I ordered a small haymaker. I thought it was really good and the Italian sausage topping was amazing. They also sell slices of some of their pizzas if you don’t want a full pizza.

Very Good Pizza That Fell Short Of The Hype - Edit
First off, I want to say that I enjoyed the pizza I got from 20th street. The sourdough crust in particular was very unique and tasty. That being said, it ultimately fell short of my admittedly lofty expectations. This is the single most hyped vegan pizza shop I’ve ever heard of and I was expecting something truly phenomenal. Not only is it a nationally award winning store, this app alone is full of reviews with people claiming it to be the best pizza they’ve ever tasted. That being said, while I liked the pizza, it was far from the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. I’m honestly not even sure it is in the top 5 vegan pizzas I’ve tried just in Philadelphia. Still, I would recommend it and hope others have a better experience!

Wow was I impressed! Ive had lots of vegan pizza in NYC, and 20th Street gives them a run for their money. I had the Veggie (loaded with toppings) and White (cheese was to die for). Overall, crust and cheese were excellent, and a large chocolate walnut cookie to top it off. $12 total.

This hole in the wall fully earns all 5 stars. The dough is a sour dough with a 3 day process (as relayed by a staff member.) The sauce is great; as is everything I have had hear. Even the branding is spot on and my wife grabbed me a shirt I was raving about the the consummate approach to everything in this quintessential pizza shop.

Finally, Pizza That Gives Me All The Feels! - Edit
Nothing short of phenomenal. This brought me back to the feeling I always got eating pizza, which was my favorite guilty pleasure food prior to going plant based. Until now, I accepted it as a loss. Well, no more! We got to try 4 individual slices in the shop by sharing a plain, pepperoni, white, and Balboa. We brought home a full Haymaker pie, a calzone with crushed meatball and mushroom, which was amazeballs, and 3 scrumptious cookies. In order, of best to least best pizza because there was no worst....

One of the top rated spots in Philly for a reason!! The Selfish Cow cheese is phenomenal, the crust is thin and perfectly cooked, the sauce is incredible. The pepperoni pizza and Italian salad are soooo good, you've got to try them! If you get breadsticks make sure to ask for a side of marinara to dip them in, totally elevates them!

Ordered through a delivery service that was an hour late, but even cold, the pizza was very good. Unfortunately we didn’t get the cookie we ordered but I’m not sure if that was due to the restaurant or delivery service. We had the Balboa and Haymaker. Both were really good.

We’ve had the Balboa, The Popeye, and the Potato. All are delicious but the Balboa is our hands down favorite because of that cashew ricotta. The potato one is great but very spicy. Don’t miss the cookies- the Rocky Road and Peanut Butter were amazing!

Read moreI kicked off my pizza adventure with the Margarita slice, and it was everything a good slice should be - cheesy with fresh basil. Vegan cheese can be tricky, but this one was a home run. It had the perfect texture, not slimy at all, and tasted remarkably close to regular pizza, bringing back fond memories of the traditional slices I used to enjoy.
However, it was the White Slice that truly stole my heart. It was a flavor explosion that left me speechless. After devouring it, I had to chat with the creator/owner to unravel the magic behind it. With mozzarella, lemon cashew ricotta, garlic sauce, and a sprinkle of parmigiana, it was like the perfect marriage of garlic bread and pizza.
Also, I must emphasize the exceptional quality of the crust on both pizzas, just delightful, cooked to perfection *chef's kiss!*
I couldn't help but wish that 20th Street Pizza would expand to New Jersey or New York City, but then again, maybe it's best kept as a hidden gem, or I might find myself moving in next door! The service was fantastic, and the owner's passion for his creations shone through as he happily shared insights. It was an exceptional experience, one that I'll crave until my next visit!
