Serves meat, vegan options available. Reported to have vegan burgers and vegan po boys on the menu. Open Mon-Fri 11:30am-1:30pm, Mon 5:00pm-8:00pm, Fri-Sun 5:00pm-8:00pm, Sat-Sun 8:00am-1:30pm.
Worker did not know what vegan was and couldn't say for certain if there were animal products in the vegetarian po boy or the bun. Ordered it anyway and it came with mayo on it. Fries were fine but would not recommend this place.
I had the vegan boca burger with fries, my husband had the mushroom po boy with fried Okra. The courtyard is cute and there was one man operating the truck who was nice and made the food quickly. Fries were thick, plentiful, and seasoned very nicely. Decent lunch for a small town with limited options!
Located in the back shared courtyard of 1874 Distillery, the historical feel of this location is really neat. Difficult to find, as it is tucked between several buildings and isn’t visibly obvious when driving or walking by, so look for the address and then walk through entry off the main drag. Even if the distillery is closed, the food truck entrance may be open. Make sure to check the food truck hours, as they close between lunch and dinner.
Loved the big trees in the courtyard and the classic speak easy piano music that was piped music in. Appreciated that the guy running the food truck gave us a “disclaimer” upfront that they use the same grill that meat is cooked on. He did wipe it off, but wanted us to know upfront. Only two vegan options on their menu, but that is two more then most places in this small community and on Tuesdays (which is the day we were there) many locations in town were closed.
We both had the mushroom po-boy vegan sandwich. We had a choice of sides, which included a salad, but they didn’t have any vegan dressing for the salad. Bummer. Got fried okra as a side with bbq sauce substitute.
Food was fresh and portions were large, but sadly it lacked flavor. Think it could work if some type of sauce was added. While I loved the location and appreciated the effort, the biggest reason for only two stars is that the food truck itself needs a major facelift. Paint job and replacement of dirty screen door would make a world of difference. Just felt dingy and dirty, although the cook appeared to be following health codes. We travel through Del Norte several times a year, so will cross fingers that this particular point is addressed should I seek them out again.
Small town with very few options, we were suprised to find this little gem. The mushroom po boy was our favorite and the veggie burger was standard but good. Ask to make it vegan. The fried okra was delicious (large portion). Tucked away in a cute courtyard, we would recommend!
