Go to Zest if you want to rediscover yourself à la Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love. The food is high quality, the ambience is delightful, and the service is friendly. The jackfruit pizza has amazing melty cashew parmesan, and the tapas menu was addictive.

We had the awakened cowboy, "a satisfying Jackfruit and taro 'steak' served with creamy mushroom sauce, grilled tomatoes, wilted greens, and cassava shoestring fries" which we're both still drooling over and the miso crusted pumpkin wedge, also amazing! We ordered a pizza as well, not because we weren't satisfied but because we just didn't want to stop eating this gorgeous food. I thought some of the drink ingredients sounded "out there" but I bow to the mastery, they were delicious. I can't wait to go back and eat my way through the whole menu.

Probably one of the best vegan places I've even been to. I had an appetizer, main, coffee, and dessert which were all beautiful. What I loved just as much is they are eco friendly - cloth napkins, towels for drying hands, and stainless steel straws. The view and ambiance were fantastic. A MUST visit in ubud - vegan or not.

BEST vegan food in Ubud! - Edit
Trust me! There are many great vegan places in Ubud, but Zest is next level! We simply had to come back after visiting the first time, everything was so yummy and nothing like what we had tasted before. i highly recommend the pizzas, bangkok bang wok and their tapioca flatbreads.

Best vegan eatery in Ubud!! - Edit
So yummy. Diverse menu, full of creativity, and cooked & served with flair! Ate here 4 times during my 5-day trip, which means I pretty much ate here every day for the duration of my visit lol... Everything from the service to the decor to the food was perfect as far as I am concerned. I was almost nervous about being let down with each visit, because the food was so good every time! I tried several of their dishes... the jackfruit pizza (it was a summer special at the time, so I don't know if it's still available - it would be cool if it was on the regular menu!) blew my mind... the "run piglet run" wrap thingamajig was super tasty too (also made from jackfruit). Their vegan "English breakfast" was fabuloussssss... And I loved their drinks (tried their tea one time, the hot cocoa another time, and the chai latte yet another time). Sweetened with palm nectar (side note - harvesting palm nectar is unrelated to palm oil production which is known to be highly destructive). I tried some of their sides and desserts too - all delicious (if in doubt, I recommend the zest cakes - seriously decadent!). Everything was just perfect... And I was surprised by the service. Ubud is generally a friendly town, but the waiters here really make you feel cared for, without being intrusive or unprofessional. Hands down my favourite in Ubud. Want to dine here again!!

Pros: Everything here is professional with a capital P, professional but friendly and warm staff, nice venue, feels like a palace or temple!

I love this place as it has absolutely stunning views and interior and a great placd to bump into fellow ubudians. The smoothie bowls are great, and im obsessed with the brit abroad english fry-up breakfast! The hot lattes can be a bit sickly due to the coconut milk so i always get the ice latte and avoid the brownie in a glass- way too rich! I couldn't finish it!

The curry was AMAZING as were the deserts and coffee menu. The nicest view and ambiance in Ubud- so much greenery and very trendy. It’s worth the trip out of the main strip. The prices are also not bad at all for the quality you get.

A vegan gluten free restaurant with a really awesome cozy vibe...super Bali beautiful with plants, murals, statues, carvings and a view. I love the vision too and using the local plants is awesome. Applause for that ! Too many restaurants in Ubud don't take advantage of the abundance of local resources and import so many of the ingredients they use .
Read moreI have been eating my way through the menu. So far I really love the Jackfruit Steak and the Bombay Bowl. I shared some small plates and loved the mushroom spinach. Simply delicious. Ooh and the savory avocado flat bread. Clearly I am addicted and will keep coming back !

There are many places in Ubud where you can vegan food, but for some reason I found only two spots where the food was proper tasty and Zest is one of them.
