amazing place

I visited the place with my boyfriend, had a coco pudding and a bowl with tempeh, rice, beet, avocado, cucumber, beans and mushrooms (I can't remember the name of the dish). We also ordered lemonade and soy macchiato, which were also wonderful.

Pros: colorful menu

First time visiting

I’m writing on behalf of my mom and sister because I did not go. It was quiet, the owner was really friendly and she even told me that her son is an activist and he’s only 6 years old! The food was pretty good!

Pros: Pretty good

Cons: They ran out of a lot of things on the menu

Hi! I remember your mom and sister very well. We had a nice long chat about being vegan. We did not have enough avocado maki rolls for your sister because it was a very long (10-day) national holiday in Turkey and it was impossible for us to find avocados as the stores and market house were closed. We explained this to your family. We apologised and served your sister extra sushi on-the-house to make up for any inconvenience. I also remember your mom, sister and their friend leaving here very happily. They even said that they were very happy because this was the first satisfying decent meal they'd ever had in a few days during their stay in Istanbul.

AMAZING BREAKFAST!!!!

LOVE THIS PLACE, MUST GO!

They have amazing breakfast. We tried everything I think. The buckwheat pancakes, the omelette, the grilled cheese sandwich (did not try the vegan sausage), and the granola. Everything was great. This place has the best vegan cheese of all the restaurants in Istanbul. I mean it was melted and cheesy in the omelette and the grilled cheese. I think the omelette was my least favorite because its made from aquafaba I think and it wasn't very fluffy like an egg. MUST TRY THE GRANOLA!! It is so unique and unlike any other granola you will have anywhere else in the world because they use dried and baked mulberry in it and I think she also said fig or maybe apricot. I don't remember. It was amazing though. My next favorite was the pancakes. Beautifully plated as well. Covered with pieces of apples, pears, walnuts, and raisins I believe. And I asked for the bottle of agave syrup so I could drizzle on top as well.

The place is very cute and well priced. The staff is wonderful and 1 or maybe 2 speak English. The food did take a while compared to what we are used to but thats because they made it right then so it was all fresh.

I will say the night before I had gone and bought this like casserole piece thing and I didn't like it at all. It had grape leaves and maybe tumeric and I just didn't like it. I also got a piece of what looked like chocolate-y bread and it didn't taste at all like chocolate. I wasn't a huge fan. But like I said, breakfast is a must at this place!

Pros: Great breakfast , Good vegan cheese, Good price and ambiance

Enjoyable

Went to LiT late afternoon and the place quite relatively empty. I think Istanbul has a way to go in terms of catering to vegans and this is a great addition albeit over priced. I had a green smoothie ( which was 17 lira) and my friend had some sparking water which was 5... this seemed a bit steep compared to other places we'd been to ( a fresh fruit juice for example in Karakoy won't cost you more than 10 lira at a push...). The staff there were friendly though albeit the service pace was a bit slow considering there were no active orders. Nice place to chill and mini quiches looked good but the price put me off!

Pros: Funky decor, Friendly service, Free wifi

Cons: Overpriced

Lovely staff, delicious Food, affordable prices

A little restaurant with a breakfast and changing lunch menu. The staff is very friendly. They really want you to try different dishes so you get a wider range of food options. They even give you small samples if you haven't fully made up your mind. And there are different cake options for desert. It's a relaxing place if you want a little break from all the traffic and a lovely atmosphere.

Well-decorated vegan place

This well- decorated place is very close to the center in karaköy. We tried artichoke quiche, it was really delicious.
In addition, they made a special cocoa cake for that day.
It's nice to be experimental. but I did not like the chickpeas in dessert. I ate very unintentionally.. raw vegan balls are better than cake.

Pros: well-decorated, experimental

Cons: friendly staff

Great food, lovely owners!

Greeted cheerfully from the moment I walked in!
Totally vegan and the owners focus on healthy food. I ordered the lentil soup (yum, and not too salty), the bowl of the day (very tasty, spinach, potato, broccoli, pine nuts, beans, pomegranate, beats in a delicious creamy turmeric sauce), and three desserts! (Vegan take on a traditional Turkish cookie, another cookie, and a slice of banana bread)
I also had a cappuccino made with in-house made almond milk and sweetened with dates. Delicious.
Needless to say, I was stuffed but I love going all out in vegan restaurants! Afterwards, I chatted with one of the owners for a while about veganism and we brainstormed for future dessert menu items. I might just see some chocolate mousse in their future...
Overall, good atmosphere with clean design and great food. Will be back.

Great food, ambience and service

We went to LiT as part of the vegan restaurant tour through Istanbul that we did and this was the first place that was a really pleasant surprise. There was a variety of food and drinks and the service was super nice and translating the ingredients for us to English for several dishes without us even having to ask. I don't remember all that was offered but we ended up ordering a salad bowl with lots of good stuff that was anything but basic, and beans with "sausage" and a portion of rice which I can't stress enough how good it was. The rice was absolutely perfect.
We had a Golden Milk and a Matcha Latte which were both very good and foamy for those who are a fan of their foamy drinks.

Apart from the food being very good a modestly priced the place also was very nice and it was easy to feel welcome there. It's kept rather casual and suits both pairs of people as well as a larger group without being too crammed. What I also liked about the place is that it seems very authentic and has a sense of charme to it. We were there when they proudly announced on the board that they haven't used any animal product in 119 days - hinting at the transition from a vegetarian menu.

We are very happy they made the transition, and would recommend anyone visiting Istanbul to stop by. The LiT is also near to Galata Tower which makes it easy to incorporate in your tour of Istanbul.

Pros: Nice and casual atmosphere , Tasty and varied food for rather low price, Suitable for groups

Welcoming a New Vegan Cafe in Town

Lit Karakoy, a former vegetarian eatery, has become vegan.
Its central location and great food makes it a top choice for us vegans when out and about in popular Karakoy area.
Their menu offers many healthy and tasty, whole-food plant-based choices in a lovely atmosphere whether for a hearty lunch or simply for coffee & cake.

Pros: Friendly, Central location

Cons: Maybe bit difficult to find the first time
