Quiet bland - Edit
Pie is ok. Mash tastes like cardbox. Overall quite bland and nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t return

Great pie but disappointing visit - Edit
We visited lunch time on a Saturday and it didn’t seem that busy but there was barely anything left to choose from. I guess they just sell out fast on weekends! We got the last farmhouse pie and steak and ale pie with gravy, no mash left, no peas left, but we were charged for pie and mash? So just two pies came to 12 pounds! I felt ripped off tbh but I was happy with the quality of pies at least. Staff didn’t seem very helpful either we weren’t sure which till to go to to pay and not many of them wanted to acknowledge us. Overall it was a nice snack while out and about but I wanted it to be a full meal like I paid for 🤣

Little disappointing - Edit
Had a breakfast pie which was impressively vegan - had an ‘omelette’ and sausage and beans within but I wasn’t a fan of the flavours mixed together, especially with the gravy which I only got because it was free. Got to take away so was a bit soggy when I managed to eat it, and was quite small for the price. To get mash it cost extra. Perhaps I’d try a different one next time, if I wanted to treat myself for something more expensive for lunch.

Nicely flavoured pie - Edit
As other reviews have pointed out, this is one counter at a big grocery shop with other food options. I ordered the vegan mushroom stroganoff with a side of mash and gravy, lots of gravy! I thought the pie was nice, I think the pastry could have been flakier but it was nice and a treat to have the mash and gravy

It’s a nice place to stop while in London to enjoy a proper pie! We had pie with mash and gravy, stuffed portobello mushroom and sweet potato. Recommended.

Meh - Edit
My partner and I visited Planet Organic today and were quite disappointed after reading so many great reviews. The food was stone cold, the pies rock solid, the mash and gravy both a sloppy mess. I’m giving two stars rather than one purely because I presume if not for the poor storage during the day of said food, it would have been great.

Gets you a Pie - Edit
Staff are really nice, and the steak and mushroom pie is pretty good. Questioned every bite with how well they got the texture and chew of the streak.
Read moreGiving 3 stars because mash is not what I expected. Not certain whats in it, but the yellow colour did not deliver the “buttery” flavour you may expect.
I would still return to try another one of their pie options.
Pros: 3 tasty pies to choose from, Moist, Great pie crust
Cons: Mash doesn’t deliver on flavour

Buttery pastry, interesting fillings - Edit
Really delicious pastry (reminded me of the buttery pastry I had years ago when I was vegetarian) filled with some interesting fillings. We had the steak and ale (excellent) and chestnut mushroom stroganoff. Would've loved more of those delicious mushrooms in the pie as there was a lot of a thick bechamel sauce-like filling instead. Overall though, great pies!

Best pie ever! - Edit
Sadly they don’t have their own shop at Camden Market anymore. They are now at a location where they also sell the secretions and body parts of animals. If that’s ok for you, absolutely go there because the pies are outstanding.

Amazing pie! - Edit
We had 2 vegan mushroom stroganoff pies with mash and gravy. The pie was DELICIOUS! Really creamy, and well seasoned with dill! Couldn’t fault it. Only improvement for me would be if they offered some side veg along with the mash but overall I will DEFINITELY be going again, and again!

Revisit to Young Vegans in Planet Organic - Edit
New Review: Pie was as good as I remember but i need to ask for more gravy as it was just a dribble at best. As it’s inside planet organic there are non vegan and meat dishes served from the same counter. Also wish they sold the pies to have at home from the shop!
Read moreOriginal review: 5 stars Not being a pie person I wasn’t expecting to fall in love. Strongly recommend the breakfast pie.

4.5 - Tasty pies! - Edit
Young Vegans is located at the hot counter inside Planet Organic. They have a range of 6 pies to choose from, which you can buy on their own for £5.99 or add mash & gravy for an extra £3. They start serving at 11:30 but when we got there at 5pm they only had 3 choices left – Mushroom Stroganoff, Steak & Ale and Aussie. The server told us the Mushroom Stroganoff was really popular and I’ve read mixed reviews of the Aussie, so we went for the Mushroom Stroganoff and Steak & Ale pies, both with mash and gravy. They have a seating area upstairs (with free water refills and cups) so we sat up there to eat them. The Mushroom Stroganoff was really good, lots of filling and very tasty. For me the Steak & Ale was even better, lots of ‘steak’ with a really delicious texture and flavour. The mash was also really nice and creamy. The food was really tasty, although I didn’t find it hugely filling so it would make a great lighter lunch.

Hit and miss - Edit
Sometimes it’s good and other times a pie taste very different (even the same flavour). I’ve ordered from them twice, first time the pies were so salty and not like in person and couple years later I ordered again and totally fine. Hit or miss.

Can not recommend - Edit
As much as I love the idea of vegan pies, it did not satisfy me. I found it irritating that the potato mash was made with olive oil and this was all I could taste about it. They also gave me the wrong pie. I've ordered the stroganov pie but endet up with the breakfast pie which was just not very good.

The steak and ale pie was tasty, with a very meaty consistency and flavour. With mash and gravy it was a good meal (but nothing outstanding).
